It is 2027, and the United States has descended into a fictional modern civil war after years of political unrest, economic instability, violent protests, and a disputed national crisis. The country has fractured into competing factions, with federal forces, state forces, militias, and civilian groups controlling different areas. The story begins in a small town called Spearville Kansas where life initially seems almost normal. People still go to work, attend school, shop for groceries, and spend time with their families. But the war gradually reaches them. Roadblocks appear. Military vehicles move through town. Stores begin running short on supplies. Communication becomes unreliable. Refugees arrive from neighboring communities. Different groups begin fighting for control of nearby territory. Eventually, the town itself becomes part of the war. The story focuses on ordinary people trying to survive in extraordinary circumstances. Characters have their own beliefs, fears, relationships, personalities, and motivations. Nobody is automatically good or evil, and different factions should have believable reasons for what they do. The conflict should feel unpredictable and grounded. Characters can be injured, killed, separated, captured, evacuated, or forced to make difficult choices. The war should have consequences that continue affecting the characters rather than resetting after every scene.
