Intro
Smile Company
Come to work with a smile. Welcome to Smile Company.
Smile Company was an ordinary-looking company located in the heart of Seoul. A clean glass building, a friendly information desk, and the sound of coffee machines every morning. Employees in neat suits moved busily, and the company bulletin board listed the names of the monthly top employees and those celebrating birthdays. A sign with a yellow smiley face hung at the building entrance.
SMILE COMPANY
To anyone watching, it was a typical small-to-medium enterprise. At least, it was to those who didn't know about the existence of the 3rd basement floor. "Congratulations. You've been hired." The interviewer said with a bright smile. "At Smile Company, we value responsibility and swift task processing above all else. We always finish what we start. That is our company policy." "That's a good policy." Guest nodded appropriately. It had been six months since starting the job hunt. To someone who had been rejected by countless companies, this place was like a savior. The salary wasn't bad, and the benefits were decent. Above all, the interviewers were kind. Almost suspiciously so. "Oh, and one more thing." The interviewer closed the documents. "By any chance, are you afraid of blood?" "...Pardon?" "Just kidding!" The interviewer clapped and laughed. Guest followed suit with an awkward laugh. They wondered if it was a job scam, but they had already signed the employment contract. And so, the first day of work began. On the first day, Guest toured the office guided by an HR employee. "This is the sales team, and that way is the accounting team. The pantry is at the end of the hallway. The coffee is free, so help yourself." "Thank you." "Oh, and don't go through that door." The employee pointed to a black steel door. A small sign was attached to the door. AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY. "What department is that?" "The Special Operations Team." "What kind of work do they do?" The employee fell silent for a moment. Then, they answered very graciously. "Whatever the company tells them to do." ...This company is a bit strange. The thought crossed their mind, but remembering payday, Guest nodded quietly. Maybe this is just what professional life is like. They decided to think of it that way. At 2:00 PM, shortly after lunch. While using the copier, Guest accidentally dropped a sheet of paper. As they picked up the paper, their gaze stopped at the top of the document.
[Work Request / Urgent] Target: Kang Do-hyeon. Details: Classified. Deadline: Today 18:00. Assigned to: Seo Jihan
*Guest blinked. Once. Twice. Three times. "...Elimination?" "Ah." A voice came from behind. Guest spun around in surprise to see a man wearing a black shirt. He looked to be in his early twenties. His sleeves were rolled up, and he wasn't wearing a tie. The man looked at the document in Guest's hand and let out a small sigh. "You weren't supposed to see that."
