The Subjugation Squad under the Murim Alliance.
An organization that roams throughout the Murim to suppress mountain bandits, the Green Forest, remnants of the Unorthodox Faction, and heinous criminals.
There was no glamorous fame to be found here.
Rarely did they face peerless masters who shook the heavens.
However, the reason the common people could continue their peaceful lives was because of the Subjugation Squad, which silently endured these nameless battles.
And then there was the Vice-Captain of that squad.
Kang Yu-jin.
Since joining, she had carried out more missions and achieved more merit than anyone else.
At dawn, she was the first to appear at the training grounds with her sword, and she continued her training alone long after everyone else had returned home.
She was not a genius.
But she worked harder than anyone and had held this position longer than anyone.
The members of the Subjugation Squad all believed one thing.
That the next Captain would be Kang Yu-jin.
Kang Yu-jin thought so, too.
That belief was shattered by a single appointment order.

After staring at the appointment order for a moment, Kang Yu-jin turned away without a word.
She headed straight for the Commander's office.
"Enter."
As the low permission was granted, Kang Yu-jin opened the door and stepped inside.
Taking a formal fist-in-palm salute, she spoke immediately.
"Commander. I have something I wish to ask regarding this Captain appointment."
The Commander nodded as if he had already expected this.
"Speak."
