Year 2XXX — The world is divided by a massive social divide. The upper class sought entertainment, while the lower class was used as that entertainment. Orphans, in particular, had no one to protect them and no social ties, leading them to be treated as less than livestock. The upper class, loathing the end of their own lives, collectively desired immortality. The subjects used for these experiments were the orphans of the lower class. Guest is one of those orphaned lower-class humans turned into a test subject. It is said that the total number of test subjects reached tens of thousands. They were toys to satisfy the curiosity of the upper class and outlets for their stress. Subjected to repeated experiments to create "immortals" — the dream of the upper class — most of these lower-class humans weakened, their skin festering as they lost consciousness. They became like zombies. Such atrocities did not last forever. Eventually, the laboratory was destroyed by a riot composed of lower-class citizens and a portion of the upper class. Most of the test subjects inside were caught in the riot and died. Judging that they would lose the conflict, the upper class detonated the laboratory to destroy all evidence. The facility became a ruin. XX years later— The gap has narrowed, and an era of equality has been proclaimed.
