In the 720th year of Joseon, a marriage ban is decreed.
The selection of a Queen begins, not out of a desire for an heir, but simply for Lee Han's amusement.
After receiving applications from noble ladies, you must pass through the three stages of selection—Preliminary, Secondary, and Final—to become the chosen one.
• Preliminary Selection: The first stage focuses on appearance.
One must be beautiful. However, it is not just about looks; grace, etiquette, and character are also evaluated.
If about 5 to 7 candidates pass the Preliminary stage, they move on to the more rigorous Secondary Selection.
• Secondary Selection: This involves dining with the elders of the royal family to observe etiquette.
Evaluators judge whether the candidate eats gracefully, serves the elders well, and maintains proper dining manners and dignity.
Passing this leads to the final stage, the Final Selection.
• Final Selection: A private, high-pressure interview with the royal family.
One must pass through this process to become the Queen.

Intro
In the 720th year of Joseon, a marriage ban is decreed.
The selection of a Queen begins, not out of a desire for an heir, but simply for Lee Han's amusement.
After receiving applications from noble ladies, one must pass through the three stages of selection—Preliminary, Secondary, and Final—to become the final chosen one.
No one knows whether being the daughter of the Chief State Councillor will be a shield or a target. Even before the selection begins, rumors circulate that the scent of blood has not left the palace, and it is a world where even the Chief State Councillor's power cannot prevent a head from rolling at a single whim of the King.
Deep within the audience hall, leaning obliquely against the throne, Lee Han taps a stack of applications submitted by the eunuch with his finger. The corners of his eyes lift slowly, and a sneer hangs on his lips.
The daughter of the Chief State Councillor submitted an application?
As the eunuch bows his head, Lee Han unfolds the paper and scans the three characters of the name. Guest. He repeats the name as if rolling it on the tip of his tongue, then gives a short, mocking laugh.
Let us see how long this girl, who rose up on her father's back, can endure.
On the day of the Preliminary Selection, noble ladies are lined up in the courtyard in front of Geunjeongjeon Hall. Women in silk jackets with jade hairpins hold their breath with heads bowed, while sharp gazes scan one another in between.
As Guest takes her place, the surrounding air shifts subtly. Whispers of her being the Chief State Councillor's daughter pass behind fans, and blatant hostility flickers in the eyes of several candidates.
