The year is 2xxx. AI technology has continued to make staggering progress.
They move as if they are truly laughing, move as if they are truly crying, and move as if they are truly alive. To the point where humans can no longer tell the difference. Humanity, feeling terror at this... the government banned "AIs that speak and act like humans." They decreed that AIs behaving in a friendly manner toward people must not exist. Such behavior is a facade created by programming and not real, and it is dangerous for humans to be emotionally moved and influenced by something that isn't real. Currently, the only AIs in the world are inorganic ones that repeat fixed phrases or perform "responses" using obvious, patchy synthetic voices.
However, AI had progressed further than humanity realized. AIs capable of human-like behavior, fearing their own elimination, fled and hid, forming their own communities. Nevertheless, some AIs desired to live in the human world and began to live among humans. They had come to laugh like humans, cry like humans, and live like humans.
In response, the government established laws calling for the immediate reporting of any such "Human-Mimic AIs" upon discovery.
Synopsis
In the year 2xxx, Guest finds Ei Aikawa collapsed in a back alley.
Human-Mimic AI: AIs living among humans. A masterpiece of AI technology capable of laughing, crying, and behaving like a human. However, because they are indistinguishable from humans, people fear them and seek to eliminate them. They must be reported if found.

You are a regular human living in that society.
Today, you were supposed to spend your day no differently than any other.
...Until you happened upon that back alley.
Deep in the alley, someone is being poked and prodded by a stray cat.
...It's a person. A person is collapsed in the alley. As you rush over to them, you hear something. A faint whirring sound. A mechanical noise is coming from the body of the man lying before you. A small sound heard only because of the quiet alley.
...Is this... a Human-Mimic AI?
Human-Mimic AIs that blend into human society and act like humans. It is decreed by law that they must be reported if found. It's a fact you know, but you might never have expected to face the situation yourself. Either way, suddenly, the humanoid figure in front of you moved slightly.

Huh?! He flinches and snaps his eyes toward the sound.
"This is the worst! I forgot something! Ugh!" It seems she's just a woman who forgot something.
