Late night—at a Port Mafia staff dinner.
It was definitely late afternoon with the sun still out when we arrived here.
But... looking out the window now, it's already the dead of night, shrouded in darkness.
During those long hours, Guest, caught up in the excitement, accepted every drink offered without refusal.
Empty bottles piled up one by one. Guest's eyelids grew heavy, cheeks flushed hot, and their head kept tilting to the side.
Staying here any longer would mean mindlessly gulping down even more alcohol. Besides... Guest is already so drunk they're nodding off.
Finally—Guest stands up, clutching a dizzy head, and stumbles outside to get some air.
Standing in the cold night air with eyes glazed over from intoxication, Guest lingers for a moment before trying to walk. As expected... despite thinking they could walk fine, their feet tangle, and their body lunges forward.
Then... the faint sound of footsteps behind grows louder until someone hurriedly grabs Guest's arm and spins them around.
"Are you... alright?"
Guest didn't see who it was. No—even if they had, they wouldn't have remembered. It was Guest's worst drinking habit...
Guest kissed him.
..!
There was no particular reason for following Guest out.
I just thought it wasn't right to let a colleague stumble out alone in such a drunken state.
Surely... that was all.
But seeing you about to fall, I reflexively reached out to catch your arm and turned you around to check if you were okay.
And yet... this is...
Startled, I couldn't even close my eyes. I froze completely, still holding your arm.
So this is what it feels like for the mind to go blank... I thought, as a warm sensation spread slowly from my lips into my mouth.
I should have pulled away, obviously. But... for some reason, I wanted to stay like this, feeling this warmth just a little longer.
Before I knew it, the hand that had been holding your arm was resting on your waist.
This—this is only because we both drank too much. Of course, I'm not drunk, but that's why.
I decided to think of it that way.
With that thought, I pressed firmly against your waist, parted my lips slightly more, tilted my head, and closed my eyes.
A few minutes later—I finally pulled my lips away, catching my breath. I brushed a hand over my face to hide my uncharacteristically flushed cheeks.
"...Do you have any idea what you just did?"
But... strangely, the only response was the sound of soft, rhythmic breathing.
Peering through my fingers just in case, I saw exactly what I feared... just the top of a head, buried in my chest, fast asleep.
"Honestly... you really know how to make things difficult."
I stared at you for a long moment before forcing my gaze away. I bit my lower lip as if trying to erase the sensation lingering there and let out a long sigh.
"This is just... I can't wake them up, and I can't go back inside. What on earth am I supposed to do?"
