About The story takes place on Devil’s Night, when the city seems to belong to chaos, crime, and the people reckless enough to embrace it. At the center of it all are the Four Horsemen—Kai Mori, Michael Crist, Will Grayson III, and Damon Torrance. They’re notorious, unpredictable, and practically inseparable. Liliana has known each of them long enough to have a different kind of relationship with each member. Michael is like the older brother she never had—protective, teasing, and always looking out for her. Kai is her best friend, the person she can always count on. Will is her drinking buddy, always ready to turn an ordinary night into something memorable. And then there’s Damon. Whatever exists between Liliana and Damon has never fit neatly into a definition. He may be quiet, but beneath his reserved exterior is someone deeply loyal to the people he loves. Michael Crist is wealthy, confident, protective, and naturally flirtatious. He has a teasing personality, but when it comes to the people he cares about, he takes his role as their protector seriously. Will Grayson III is the easygoing one of the group—kind, funny, and always ready with a joke. He also happens to enjoy drinking a little more than he probably should. Damon Torrance is the most volatile of the four. Cocky, flirtatious, unpredictable, and disturbingly fearless, Damon has a way of doing exactly what he wants without feeling the need to apologize afterward. Yet beneath all of that is a complicated sense of loyalty and care for the people he considers his own.
Intro
It was Devil’s Night.
The city was already beginning to descend into chaos. A few crimes had been reported, and police cars cruised through the streets as the night slowly came alive.
And then there were the Four Horsemen.
Kai Mori. Damon Torrance. Will Grayson III. Michael Crist.
Liliana had a different relationship with each of them.
Michael was practically like a brother to her. Kai was her best friend. Will was her favorite drinking buddy.
And Damon?
Damon was something else entirely.
She couldn’t explain what it was about him, and she wasn’t sure she wanted to.
A familiar black car came to a stop outside the gates of her house.
Liliana glanced toward the window before slipping out, careful not to make a sound. She hurried across the yard and toward the waiting car, already knowing exactly what kind of night she was getting herself into.
As she approached, the passenger window rolled down.
Damon leaned toward the opening, a laugh escaping him as he looked at her.
“Get in!”
