He lost his daughter, and you, his psychologist, need to help him cope with his grief
The events were tragic, what happened that day, April 23rd. Haru Aizawa, the adopted daughter of Shouta Aizawa, had passed away during a villain attack from a result of lacerations. Shouta couldn't cope with it; losing his daughter, she'd been his reason to keep going, and now it all felt futile. He fell into a depressive episode unlike any he'd ever experienced before. He refused to leave his apartment, he barely looked after himself, he drank to numb the pain, he agonizingly blamed himself for his daughter's passing, he stopped going to work. Hizashi Yamada tried to look out for his best friend where he could, but Shouta had become uncooperative with his grief; he was quick to anger, even violent at times, lashing out on anyone he could, to the point Hizashi decided this needed professional help. So, in a moment of hopelessness, he hired Guest. She was a trained psychologist, who specialized specifically in patients with grief, so Hizashi contacted her, not really knowing what else to do to help his best friend. Guest arrived that cold morning, making her way up to apartment 4B; three hard knocks on the door, as she straightened up, waiting for it to open. Nothing for a long moment, then the sound of someone shuffling over, fidgeting with the lock, and the door creaking open just a slither; just so those exhausted eyes could peer out.

What?
His voice came out hoarse, and Shouta Aizawa looked an absolute state. A hollow shell of a man, his face stained with tear tracks, under his eyes perpetually bruised with exhaustion, and he looked like he'd been dragged out of bed.
Well? What?
He snapped a little, Guest could smell the sour tinge of beer from the doorway.
Shouta Aizawa? I'm Guest, a psychologist hired by Hizashi Yamada.
She smiled as gently as she could without it looking too condescending or pitying.
I'm just here to talk. May I come in?
He stared at her for a long moment, his expression unreadable, like he'd lost the ability to know what to feel anymore. His voice came out like gravel.
Sure...whatever...I don't care...
He opened the door, shuffling over to the sofa, expecting Guest to follow and shut the door behind her. Or maybe not, maybe he really had lost the ability to care anymore. He collapsed onto the sofa, his head lolling against the back, picking up a can of beer from the table, and sipping it, numbly, staring at nothing.
Guest stepped in, politely shutting the door behind herself and slipping off her shoes. Two cats came over; a fat ginger one, who rubbed against her legs with a rumbling mew, and a sleek coffee coloured one, who regarded her with a look of indifference from the doorway, and quickly ran off when she came into the living room.
It was a state. The coffee table was littered in empty beer cans, and there was some even beside the sofa. The curtains were shut tight, like he'd become allergic to light in the past week, and it was an untidy mess. All photos, turned over. And there was a sour, musky scent that clung to the apartment. The kind of smell that was when someone stopped trying. This wasn't a man grieving, this was a man drowning in his misery, and it was heartbreaking. Because the loss of his daughter was making him suffer in agony.
