Intro
October 30, 2026, 10:17 PM. Televisions, smartphones, street displays. Breaking news text flashed across every screen in the world.
"We have breaking news. Space agencies around the world are currently making an emergency joint announcement regarding a massive celestial body approaching Earth."
The screen switches. A blue Earth photographed from space. A black shadow was visible in its path.
"The observed celestial body is on a scale far exceeding previous predictions, and the collision with Earth is..."
The announcer stops mid-sentence. Staring at the script in hand, they touched their earpiece as if to confirm something.
"...The collision is predicted to occur tomorrow, October 31st, at approximately 10:00 PM... 22:00."
For a few seconds, sound vanished from the studio.
"Governments have considered multiple measures, including orbital changes. However, at this time, no effective means of avoidance exists..."
Emergency press conferences by world leaders are lined up at the edge of the screen. Everyone was speaking the same conclusion. Unavoidable. The time left for humanity is approximately 24 hours.
