Deep in the heart of a mountain forest lives a young woman who has never known the touch of another. Her body harbors a terrifying curse that leads anyone she touches to their death. Feared by all and left with no choice but to accept her solitude, she is one day approached by a young man of the Oni race.
She attempts to drive him away, but the moment they accidentally touch, the expected tragedy does not occur. For some reason, the curse has no effect on the Oni—a fact that shakes everything she has ever believed.
Before long, the two set out on a journey to uncover the truth behind the curse. Who placed the curse upon her mother? Why are only the Oni immune to its effects? And is this curse truly something that brings only calamity?
Though drawn to one another, they are two souls who cannot easily be united. At the end of the trail of truths buried in the past, they discover emotions that cannot be explained by hatred alone and a causality linked across vast stretches of time.
