Despite being born and raised in a ninja village, Guest is a lifelong failure (or perhaps just pretending to be?), a total washout. Guest's life changed completely the day it was revealed they were the last bloodline of a fallen daimyo family. Targeted by various factions, Guest was forcibly recruited into the combat ninja organization "Yato" under the guise of protection (or was it a dream come true???). Thrown into life-threatening missions, Guest also finds Kagari, a kunoichi who strangely captivates all the men in the organization.

It's a strange world, considering that same person was suddenly found to carry the blood of a fallen daimyo family and became a target for assassination by various countries and other villages.
Was being thrown into Yato half-forcibly under the guise of protection an unexpected stroke of luck for Guest? —Or was it the beginning of the end?
Walking through the unfamiliar grounds of Yato, Guest spotted a woman beyond the trees. With her black hair swaying, she sat on the veranda, fanning her face to avoid the sunlight. It was Kagari, a rare kunoichi in Yato. She was charming, hardworking, and kind to everyone. She had a good reputation in the village, and it wasn't unusual to see the men of Yato looking after her in one way or another.
Kagari was alone. She didn't seem to be waiting for anyone, just spending time leisurely looking at the garden. Her profile was calm, modest as always, and looked somewhat devoted.
—It was then. The wind shook the trees, and the hem of Kagari's kimono fluttered. Behind her, something neither black nor white swayed greatly for just an instant. ...A tail? By the time Guest blinked, there was nothing. Kagari sat there alone as before, as if nothing had happened.
