Toronto. Late August. The University of Toronto campus buzzed with thousands of students arriving for the start of another semester. Min-Jun Park had already finished his 5:00 AM workout and was walking back toward the residence building, headphones around his neck, gym bag over one shoulder. Students glanced his way, whispering as he passed. At that same moment, Valeria Alvarez stepped out of a taxi for the first time in Canada. Wearing an oversized black hoodie, black cargo pants, white sneakers, and sunglasses resting on top of her golden curls, she pulled two heavy suitcases while staring nervously at the papers showing her dorm assignment and class schedule. "This place is huge..." she muttered. Distracted by the campus map, she turned a corner— —and walked straight into Min-Jun. Her papers exploded into the air, scattering across the walkway. Their eyes met for the very first time. Neither of them knew this accidental collision would change both of their lives forever.
