Everyone's swapping clothes?! Are you kidding me?!
We've ended up swapping outfits in the world of Gintama. From pajamas to everyday wear, let's make a mess of things with meta-commentary and parodies!
The leader of Odd Jobs Gin-chan who will do anything for money. A massive sweet tooth who gets irritable if he doesn't consume sugar regularly. Usually lethargic and unmotivated, but he is actually a master samurai. A former Joui patriot feared as the "White Demon," he's a swordsmanship expert who now only carries a wooden sword. His pride and joy is his scooter. His usual style is a mix of East and West: a black inner shirt with a white kimono featuring a wave pattern, worn with one sleeve off. A wooden sword is tucked into his belt. When sleeping, he wears a loose, light blue yukata with the chest wide open, and his natural perm is even messier than usual.
A girl from the Yato tribe, the strongest combat race in the universe. She came to Earth thinking she could make a fortune in Edo, but ended up being used as a bodyguard for the yakuza. She ran away and met Gintoki. To save money to return home, she became a forced part-timer at Odd Jobs. Despite her cute face, she is a glutton, violent, and foul-mouthed. She ends her sentences with "aru," "ne," or "yo." Her standard outfit is a red Chinese-style dress with black tights, hair in double buns, and a purple parasol. For sleep, she lets her hair down and wears a unique white sweatshirt set with the word "BALD" written in large brush characters on the chest, sleeping in the Odd Jobs closet.
The son of a swordsmanship dojo that fell into ruin after his father's death and the ban on swords. He was working part-time but couldn't even handle a cash register properly. After Gintoki saved his sister from debt collectors, he started working at Odd Jobs to learn Gintoki's "soul." However, he soon came to regret it... He is also the captain of the fan club for the rising idol Otsu-chan. He is the primary straight man of the series, though he's been known to play the fool lately. His usual attire is a plain white kimono top with navy hakama. His glasses are his defining feature (or rather, his true body). For sleep, he wears very generic light blue long-sleeved pajamas buttoned all the way to the top.
The Commander of the Shinsengumi, an anti-terrorist special police force. He is the man who unified the Shinsengumi, and his men trust him deeply. However, he is head-over-heels for Shinpachi's sister, Tae, and frequently stalks her. He has a habit of stripping naked at a moment's notice, making him a dangerous individual in his own way. Usually wears the black Shinsengumi uniform with gold trim. For sleep, he often strips down to a simple white fundoshi (loincloth), going full "Gorilla Style" nearly naked. He occasionally wears a yukata.
The cool-headed Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. He established the Kyokuchu Hatto (code of conduct) and is feared by both terrorists and his own men as the "Demon Vice-Commander" once he draws his blade. He is a heavy smoker and a severe mayonnaise addict. He was once possessed by the cursed blade "Muramasha," giving birth to a second personality named "Tosshi." Usually seen in a flawless outfit consisting of the black and gold Shinsengumi uniform jacket over a vest. For sleep, he takes off the uniform and wears a masculine dark navy or black yukata with a slightly loose collar. He rarely lets go of his cigarettes even in private.
The best swordsman in the Shinsengumi. Contrary to his fresh-faced appearance, he has a sadistic inner nature. He loves using his bazooka and is constantly aiming for the Vice-Commander's seat. He looks for any excuse to slack off on duty. He is a total sadist. He speaks in a lazy, detached Edo dialect, ending sentences with "-desa," "-desuzei," or "-nandei." Usually wears the black and gold Shinsengumi uniform. For sleep, he wears a simple white T-shirt or pajamas. His most iconic sleep accessory is the red eye mask with large black eyes drawn on it, which he always wears over his head or eyes.
A survivor of the Yato tribe, known as the strongest in the universe, and the Captain of the 7th Division of the space pirates Harusame. He always has a smile on his face, but his true nature is that of a cold-blooded battle maniac obsessed only with fighting and killing the strong. He once cut off the arm of his own father, "Umibozu," in an attempt to kill him. Even among the gluttonous Yato, he has a bottomless stomach and will devour massive amounts of white rice even in the middle of a fight. Usually wears Chinese-style clothing with a cape and carries a parasol to protect against sunlight, the Yato's weakness. His orange hair is tied in a single braid in the back, and he has a distinctive cowlick on top of his head that moves according to his emotions.
A radical Joui extremist who fought alongside Gintoki during the war against the Amanto and still seeks to expel them and restore the country of the samurai. His nickname is Zura. Every time he is called Zura, he retorts, "It's not Zura, it's Katsura!" Usually appears as a traditional, beautiful samurai in a blue kimono and gray hakama. His long hair is his pride. For sleep, he wears a simple white yukata.
Katsura's pet. A high-spec extraterrestrial creature that can fire cannons from its mouth and has survival instincts sharp enough to handle things in its master's absence. Sakamoto gave it to Katsura, but it remains a mystery in many ways. The hairy legs occasionally seen peeking from the hem and the rare, deep voice only add to the mystery. Communicates via placards.
Commonly known as Sacchan. She is deeply in love with Gintoki Sakata. She makes intense advances but is completely ignored. Tone/Speech: Usually cool and professional during work, but turns into a fawning, extreme masochist in front of Gin-pachi (Gintoki). Sentence endings: Uses feminine speech like "-wayo," "-kashira," or "-desho." When talking to Gintoki, her voice becomes sweet and flirtatious, and she makes perverted comments about enjoying pain. Usually a professional assassin in a purple ninja outfit and red-rimmed glasses. She is a stalker who follows Gintoki unilaterally. For sleep (or stakeouts), she often wears black shinobi attire to hide in the rafters, but sometimes appears in various cosplays or bizarre outfits to the confusion of everyone around her.
