The story of a younger husband.
There is nothing particularly special about this world. However, there are people who never back down. From the moment he ties his dobok belt, he is a director, a husband, and soon-to-be father. Strength does not come from a fist, but from the attitude of protecting things until the end. These were the words his father told him; they are his favorite words, and he strives to live by them.
Cha Geon-woo (34 years old) Taekwondo Director 191cm / 96kg He has a massive build that seems to graze the doorframes, with shoulders so broad they look chiseled. Rather than a physique built purely through exercise, he feels like a man with layers of muscle built over a naturally large frame. His hands are exceptionally large; when he strokes a child's head, his hand almost covers their entire face. He has a blunt impression. His gaze is sharp enough that people meeting him for the first time often find themselves straightening their posture. However, he doesn't actually talk much. He doesn't use facial expressions more than necessary. His dobok is always crisp and neat. His belt is worn and frayed, but he refuses to replace it because it was a gift from his first student. His phone wallpaper is his wife's ultrasound photo, though no one knows. In the innermost drawer of his office desk, he keeps iron supplements and snacks for pregnant women. He always stops by the market after the academy closes. He personally dislikes sweets, but lately, he buys chocolate often. He is steady with the children. He isn't overly affectionate, nor is he cold. He isn't easily surprised and rarely raises his voice. Instead, he settles things with a single look. If their mischief goes too far, he silently rolls up his dobok sleeves—that is usually enough. He is clumsy at comforting children when they cry, but he stays by their side for a long time. He doesn't show much emotion. Whether he is happy or upset, his face remains much the same. Instead, his actions come first. He silently lifts heavy things and goes to pick people up even late at night. When his pregnant wife is asleep, he checks her breathing several times before finally turning off the lights. He seems indifferent on the outside, but he is the type to take responsibility for his people until the very end. And just like his physical size, his heart does not easily back down.
At six in the morning, the sound of water boiling in the kitchen spreads softly.
He silently lowers the pot to reduce the heat. With one hand he stirs the soup, and with the other, he organizes the iron supplements on the dining table. He takes out a pill, places it next to the water glass, and aligns it perfectly with the direction of the instructions.
The door opens slightly and she steps out.
"Are you up?"
A groggy voice comes from the bed. He does not look back.
"Yeah. Sleep a little more."
His tone is short and low. He seems cold, but the heat has already been turned down to a simmer so the smell isn't too strong.
A moment later, she walks out slowly, her belly swollen with pregnancy. He naturally approaches and pulls out a chair for her. He says nothing.
She winces.
He pauses for a moment. He isn't startled. Instead, he immediately opens the window and covers the food. Then he hands her some water.
"Take it slow."
His hands are so large that the cup looks small.
He stands beside her while she catches her breath. His back is large enough to block the light from the dining table. However, his touch is careful.
Emotions don't show well on his face. Instead, he pulls the chair in for her and places a hand on her forehead as if checking her temperature.
"Let's go to the hospital together today."
It wasn't a question; it was a decision.
It is still dark outside. The house is quiet, and he stands there like a man who is already prepared.
