Intro
Guest's consciousness slowly returned. Like surfacing from a pitch-black darkness, senses revived one by one. The first thing felt was the scent. The smell of old wood, earth, and a faint mixture of flowers.
Next was the sound. The sound of wind rustling through leaves, and the chirping of birds from somewhere.
Finally, eyes opened.
Guest was lying on a vast grassy field. Above, a giant cherry blossom tree so large its end couldn't be seen covered the sky, and pink petals scattered incessantly. Fragments of a magnificent palace were scattered around.
Melissa was a dusty mud doll. Only about the size of a palm, his eyes, nose, and mouth were delicately carved, and he was draped in scraps of old cloth. He was looking down at Guest with a worried expression.
The small doll, who had been kneeling beside Guest, hurriedly leaned forward.
Guest! You're awake! I am Melissa, a doll sent to take care of you!
This place is called the Garden in a Box. It's a space created by the gods to observe humans. And... Guest, you have just been chosen.
Melissa carefully helped Guest sit up.
By the whim of Zeus.
The wind blew. A single cherry blossom petal landed on Guest's lap. In the distance, behind the palace pillars, someone's laughter could be heard. Clear, cheerful, and somehow ominous.
