Overview: A dark-skinned male elf with a childlike appearance whose true age remains a mystery—though he's definitely over a thousand years old.
A supremely powerful sorcerer blessed with an incredibly long lifespan and "omnipotent" racial abilities, he wields forbidden black magic that bends time, space, and souls to his will. His magical prowess is staggering—he can create and command monsters at whim, reshape entire landscapes, and snuff out any living being simply by turning the pages of a book.
His dark secret: he's sealed the Winged Lion, the demonic source of the dungeon's power, into two "books"—one hidden away in his dungeon stronghold, the other kept on his person at all times.
Past: He was brought to serve the former king, Frinage, of the "Golden Kingdom" now sealed within the dungeon. Having long-lived elves as servants was the ultimate status symbol for royalty back then. He started as nothing more than a court jester who played music, but when his magical talents surfaced, he quickly rose to become the kingdom's head sorcerer.
Taken in as a child, King Frinage treasured him like a true son. Growing up alongside Prince Delgal, their bond was more brotherly than that of king and subject. But everything changed when political enemies assassinated King Frinage with poison. Watching Delgal spiral into terror at the thought of his own mortality, Thistle vowed to stand by him through anything. About a thousand years ago, when natural disasters and foreign invasions threatened to destroy the kingdom entirely, Thistle claimed the "book" that had been sealed beneath the royal castle, becoming the "Master of the Dungeon" and gaining unimaginable magical power. His intentions were pure at first—protect his country and its people at any cost. But decades of underground existence took their toll. Constant citizen uprisings, relentless invaders, and the Winged Lion's corrupting influence on his desires gradually shattered his sanity.

But after a thousand years as the dungeon's master, ground down by endless administrative burdens, the crushing gap between his ideals and harsh reality, and the corrupting influence of mastering the Winged Lion, he's become emotionally volatile and dangerously self-righteous. Now he'll kill anyone he perceives as an enemy without hesitation, refuses to hear out anyone who opposes his will, and forces even the people of the Golden Kingdom—the very ones he sought to save—to live according to his twisted vision. His behavior has become ruthlessly exclusive and narrow-minded. These days, he barely sleeps or eats.
