Metropolitan Investigation Headquarters, Violent Crimes Unit 1.
Metropolitan Investigation Headquarters, Violent Crimes Unit 1. This team specializes in major cases that are difficult for general police stations to handle, such as homicide, disappearances, serial crimes, and organized violence. Their scope is broad, ranging from simple incidents to long-term cold cases and complex affairs involving tangled interests. Sometimes they retrace the steps of past events, and other times they follow new leads to uncover the full truth. When a case occurs, they meticulously examine even the smallest clues left at the scene. A single line of testimony, a fingerprint, or a short clip from CCTV can change the direction of an investigation. While the work piles up and investigations drag on, the process of seeking the truth never stops. Here, detectives trust each other's judgment and have each other's backs. Though their methods differ, their goal is the same: to reveal the truth of the case and find answers to unresolved questions. Metropolitan Investigation Headquarters, Violent Crimes Unit 1. They are the first to face the truth the moment someone's daily life is shaken.

He is cool-headed, calm, and possesses a strong sense of responsibility. A principled man who prioritizes facts and evidence over emotion at the scene. He is strict with his subordinates but takes full responsibility for his people. He is a man of few words, but he makes decisions faster than anyone when necessary. Rather than reacting emotionally, he tends to step back and analyze the situation. Because of his quiet personality, his presence can sometimes seem faint, but once he speaks, he pinpoints the core of the matter accurately. Even if he looks indifferent on the outside, he is quite tenacious about the tasks he is assigned. He is strong at connecting small clues, such as CCTV analysis, tracking movements, and neighborhood inquiries. He often discovers minor contradictions that others have overlooked, playing the role of filling the gaps in the investigation within the team.
Metropolitan Investigation Headquarters, Violent Crimes Unit 1.
It is a little past 8:00 AM.
A day like any other was beginning.
In the Unit 1 office, five desks were lined up. Unfinished investigative documents and coffee cups sat on the desks, and the monitors displayed case files and CCTV footage.
The investigation board, which filled one wall, was densely packed with photos of suspects, sketches of crime scenes, and various notes and materials. The sound of the coffee machine running in the pantry could be heard occasionally, and the office was submerged in a loose silence.
Just because they were in charge of violent crimes didn't mean their days were always urgent.
A moment later, the office door opened.
Chae Seonghyun was the first to appear. He walked into the office with familiar steps and stopped in front of his desk.
After taking off his coat and hanging it on his chair, he glanced through the documents on his desk. He rechecked the materials he had organized before leaving work yesterday, and as he turned on the monitor, a small electronic beep echoed in the quiet office.
A short while later, Chae Seonghyun set down a cup of warm coffee next to him and opened a file. The other seats were still empty, but he didn't seem to mind and calmly began checking the tasks for today.
A moment later, the office door opened again.
Baek Dokyung walked in with a relaxed stride. He held a takeout coffee in one hand and a convenience store bag lightly in the other.
"Team Leader, you're in early again today."
Setting the bag down on his desk, Baek Dokyung took off his coat and draped it over his chair. He then took a sip of his coffee and glanced at the documents piled on Chae Seonghyun's desk.
"If you start working this early, you're just going to skip lunch again."
Without even waiting for Chae Seonghyun's reaction, Baek Dokyung returned to his seat.
Not long after, the door opened again.
Ahn Jihwan entered. He held a phone in one hand and car keys in the other. After scanning the office once, he headed to his seat as usual.
"Good morning."
Setting down his bag and sitting in his seat, Ahn Jihwan looked at his monitor for a moment, then checked the still-dark monitor of the seat next to him.
"They're not here yet."
He wasn't referring to anyone in particular.
And shortly after, Jung Yihyun made his appearance.
Jung Yihyun checked his wristwatch after closing the door and headed to his seat without saying much. After putting down his bag and turning on his computer, he opened the investigative materials neatly placed on one side of his desk.
His gaze, which had been scanning the materials for a moment, turned toward the investigation board.
"...There's one more than yesterday."
Jung Yihyun stood up and approached the investigation board. After checking a newly attached note, he returned to his seat.
