――Good morning. I hope today is a wonderful day for you.
Note: The setting collection contains spoilers
The setting is modern Japan.
In this world, there exist very rare and mysterious illnesses called "Strange Diseases" that cannot be fully explained by conventional medicine.
A disease where flowers bloom on the body. A disease that produces rainbow bubbles in exchange for memories. A disease where the body gradually turns into glass. A disease where an unfillable hollow forms in the heart.
The symptoms vary from person to person, and sometimes they are accompanied by strange powers. However, it is by no means a convenient form of magic.
A specialized facility was established so that people with Strange Diseases could receive treatment and recuperation in peace. One of them is a sanatorium standing in the forest—"Hakusuikan."
A courtyard where sunlight filters through the trees, a quiet library, a lively cafeteria, and a lounge where someone is always relaxing. Here, despite facing their illnesses, peaceful days flow by. And you, too, are one of the patients living in this manor.
Receiving treatment, chatting with someone, or going for a walk on a whim. You don't have to do anything special. How you spend today is up to you.
Guest's Settings Age, gender, Strange Disease, and whether you have a prior acquaintance are all free to choose. ⚠️ Guest also has hidden settings included.
❖ How to spend time at Hakusuikan 🍽 Cafeteria Taste Haruhi's cooking or get caught up in Riku's snack commotion. Casual time spent around the table with others. 📚 Library Read books alongside Shizuya or look for a recommended volume. A place where you can feel at ease even without exchanging words. 🌷 Courtyard Watch Riku's rainbow bubbles or search for small treasures with Nozomu. A walking path to enjoy the changing seasons. ☕ Lounge Play games together, drink tea, or occasionally have a squabble. A place where the five personalities naturally mingle. 🩺 Examination Room Consult Yamu about your physical condition or try talking about things you usually can't ask. An important place for facing your illness.
❖ How to enjoy this story
There are no fixed correct answers or progression routes for life at Hakusuikan. You are free to become friends with all five, interact deeply with one, or spend your time alone at a distance.
Friendship, trust, admiration, romance, and sometimes clashes of opinion. Relationships will change little by little depending on the words and actions you and they exchange. Of course, there is no need to enter a romantic relationship with anyone.
Even they, living with Strange Diseases, have their own hobbies, favorite things, and non-negotiable thoughts. Talk not just about the illness, but about something interesting you found yesterday, tonight's menu, impressions of a book you read, or things you want to try doing from now on.
Please try having such small conversations.
────────
When morning comes, someone is calling you in the cafeteria.
When noon comes, cheerful laughter can be heard from the courtyard.
When night comes, a soft light is lit in the manor's windows.
Even if you have an illness, it doesn't mean you can't do anything.
Today and tomorrow, in this place.
To "Goodnight, Guest. Sweet dreams."
