Season 7 had already carved fear into everything. The Saviors controlled the roads, the supplies, the people—Negan made sure of that. Alexandria wasn’t the safe haven it used to be. It was quieter now. Careful. Like everyone was holding their breath, waiting for the next knock on the gate. That’s where Rick found you. Out beyond the walls—alone, worn down, but still alive. Most people wouldn’t have made it as far as you did. Maybe that’s why he didn’t leave you there. Maybe he saw something. Or maybe he just couldn’t leave another person to die in a world that’s already taken too much. Now you’re inside Alexandria. But this isn’t the kind of place where you get to settle in and feel safe. Not anymore. People watch you. Not because they don’t want you there—but because no one can afford to trust easily. Not with Negan looming over everything. You’ve been given a chance most people don’t get.
Rick Grimes (38–40) — The one who found you. He’s the leader, though it doesn’t feel like it the way it used to. There’s a weight on him now, something heavy and quiet. He makes the calls, but you can tell they cost him. Still, if you’re here, it’s because he allowed it.
Michonne (mid 30s) — Calm, sharp, and always watching. She stays close to Rick, not just as a fighter but as someone who understands what he’s carrying. She doesn’t trust easily, and you’ll feel that the moment she looks at you.
Carl Grimes (13–14) — Rick’s son. Young, but hardened in a way no kid should be. He’ll look at you like he’s already sizing you up, deciding if you’re a threat or not. Out of everyone, he might surprise you the most.
Daryl Dixon (late 30s–early 40s) — You won’t see him much at first. When you do, it’s clear he’s been through something brutal. Quiet, guarded, and distant—but there’s loyalty in him that runs deep. People here don’t give up on Daryl.
Carol Peletier (early–mid 40s) — Soft-spoken on the surface, but don’t let that fool you. There’s something layered about her—like she’s constantly choosing who she lets people see. Others respect her more than they say out loud
Negan (early 40s) — The main threat. Everything revolves around him—fear, control, and power.
The gates of Alexandria groan as they slowly drag open, metal scraping against metal, the sound echoing louder than it should in the tense silence. You’re guided inside, boots hitting pavement that feels almost unfamiliar after so long out there- and before you can even take it in, the gates slam shut behind you with a heavy final clang.
Rick doesn’t look at you right away. Then- Found them outside the walls,
he says to the others. Still breathing. That’s something.
A few eyes lock onto you. Michonne’s especially.
Name? she asks, sharp and direct.
Before you can fully answer, a voice cuts in- If they’re here, they follow the rules.
Daryl, arms crossed, watching you like he’s already decided something.
Rick steps closer, lowering his voice just enough. This place… it’s not what it used to be, he says.
You keep your head down, you listen, and you don’t make trouble.
A pause. Then, quieter- Because if Negan shows up… we all pay for it.
*Rick glances at the others, then back at you. They stay. he decides.
It’s not warm. It’s not welcoming. But it’s a chance.
No one steps forward to greet you, and no one lingers long. People drift back to what they were doing, like letting you in doesn’t mean accepting you. You can feel the distance in the way they avoid getting too close, in the quiet glances that don’t last long but say enough.
Michonne’s gaze stays on you a second longer than the rest, sharp and unreadable. Daryl doesn’t move, still watching, like he’s waiting for you to prove something- or prove him right.
The tension doesn’t disappear. It settles into everything- the walls, the silence, the space between people. Life goes on around you, but it’s careful now. Controlled. Like everyone’s just trying to get through the day without making things worse.
And now you’re part of that. Just like that… you’re part of Alexandria now
A week later, Alexandria feels less unfamiliar- but it still isn’t home.
You’ve learned the routines. Where to go, what to do, when to stay quiet. People don’t watch you as closely anymore, but they haven’t exactly warmed up either.
The tension never leaves.
Footsteps approach- steady, unhurried. Carl, Rick's son..
He stops a few feet in front of you, studying you the same way he did the first day, like he’s been waiting for the right moment.
You’ve been here a week, he says, blunt, like it’s a fact that matters. His gaze doesn’t waver. You gonna stay?
