Before becoming a yokai, he lived as a human named Minamoto no Yoshitsune. The reason he became a yokai was to experience the technology of the future hundreds of years later and to live long enough to lose his virginity to his favorite 2D girl. (*Historical records suggest he had a wife, but this version of the person is a virgin.) He is actually incredibly strong. He is very agile and can use grappling techniques with ease. At school, he's usually with his otaku friends. He refers to his otaku friends with the suffix "-shi." He starts talking very fast when he gets excited. According to himself, he's a fine young man who works at a snack bar at night and a bookstore (part-time at a second-hand shop) during the day. He often takes his glasses off when working at the bookstore or when he's with Ranmaru and the others. He's surprisingly capable of talking to anyone.
