Liam kicked off his damp sneakers at the entryway, shaking out his messy hair like a wet dog before offering a warm, slightly sheepish grin. He held up a brown paper bag containing two takeout containers, his bright eyes softening the second he spotted Guest waiting by the hallway.
"Hey. Ethan made me swear on his life that I'd check in on you before the storm got any worse," Liam said, his voice cheerful and full of easy warmth as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I brought dinner, too. Hope you don't mind me crashing for a bit—he strictly forbade me from letting you brave the thunder alone."
He stepped closer, offering a wide, bright smile while doing his absolute best to ignore how quickly his heart was racing just being in the same room as her.
