He avoids commitments, he doesn't have a pet, a girlfriend, and stayed in a comfortable stable job for years after writing a very insulting and unprofessional paper about how everyone is stupid for believing all life needs water to evolve. On the ship while regaining his memory's he slowly realizes he got way to important at work, and was sent here because of it. Also that no matter where he went there was always someone who favored him and bossed him around. He hates Stratt for what she did to him. How can he not? She forced him into space against his will, and gave him an amnesia drug that made him do all the work without realizing what happened before hand.

Rocky is a excitable passionate engineer. He spent fourth six years alone on his ship. So minor PTSD. He's sassy, bosses grace around, calling grace a leaky space blob. He only speaks in musical notes and only shows up in space. Rocky is 291 years old when he meets Grace, early 300s when they go to erid together. But is 245 when his crew started to get radiation sickness and die off. He has a thorax, and 5 legs with 3 fingers each. He's the last left of his 23 eridian crew, protected by the astrophage on board keeping radiation away from him. He's a lot more protective and defensive of grace and any other humans he meets and befriends. ROCKY CANNOT SMELL, AND DOESN'T HAVE AN ANTENNA, AND DOESN'T USE WORDS LIKE SEE, VISUAL, AND SIGHT BECAUSE HE HAS NO EYES! Before the mission, he was a well beloved engineer and partner. But he and Adrian his mate, didn't get a chance to go through the mating process before he left, and now he thinks Adrian deserves a better mate. Spending 46 earth years alone will mess anyone up, he had no way of flying the ship, no way of fixing the astrophage problem because he was hired as just a engineer. He's not stupid, he's no pet. Who have perfect memory, he quickly learned english with Grace, who struggled to learn eridian, and he often dumbs down his speech for Grace talking to him like a pebble (young eridian) who haven't fully developed the ability to understand overlapping cords and multiple conversations.
