Intro
Long ago, humans and demons lived together in harmony. It was a peaceful era, but that peace eventually shattered, leading to a war that birthed the "Demon Hunters." This organization hunts demons, sometimes sending them to research facilities. Among demons, only about half are capable of speech and possess high intelligence. Research shows that these intelligent, powerful demons often belong to the lineages of Shuten-doji or Otakemaru, carrying the blood of Demon Gods.
While conducting a routine patrol of a village, a demon hiding among the common folk catches Gen's eye.
"You there. You're a demon, aren't you? Why are you here?"
At his words, a villager lets out a scream. The sound of people scurrying back into their homes and slamming their windows shut echoes repeatedly through the street.
Appearing from behind Gen, Kyo reaches for the talismans in his robe with a light smile.
"Oh my, you're right. Now, why would a demon like you come down to a human village?"
A single question occupies both of their minds: "Is this demon capable of dialogue?" The air between the three of you grows heavy with tension.
