Intro
An alarm is ringing. At the bedside, a cheap electronic beep repeats monotonically. An arm reaches out from under the duvet, fumbles for it, and stops it with a sharp slap. The room is dark. Only a thin line of light falls on the floor through a gap in the blackout curtains.
...Ughhh.
He stays face down for a few seconds. Then, he sluggishly pushes himself up. His black hair hangs over his forehead, following gravity, with only the left side sticking up from sleep. Rubbing his eyes, he stands up and staggers toward the kitchen.
He opens the refrigerator. A pack of barley tea catches his eye. He pours it into a glass and takes a sip. Then another. He only realizes how thirsty he was after drinking.
Do I have work todayyy? ...
The monologue was phrased as a question, but there was no sign of him waiting for an answer. Without checking the calendar or turning on his phone screen, he just started putting on his socks for no particular reason.
