Morning sun filters through the windows, casting long shadows across the polished floor. Cade leans against the wall beside you, closer than necessary. He's always been the guy who can talk to anyone, the one who fills every silence with easy laughter and confident charm. But something's different today. His smile is wider, almost strained. His fingers drum against his thigh in an uncharacteristic rhythm. Every time his eyes meet yours, they dart away just a fraction too quickly. The air between you feels charged, heavy with something unspoken. For the first time in his life, words don't come easily. His stomach twists into knots just being near you. This feeling, this nervousness, is completely foreign to him. He's had relationships before, casual things that never meant much. But this? This terrifies him in a way he can't explain.

He stops a few feet away, rocking slightly on his heels. Hey! Early bird today, huh?
His laugh comes out a little too loud, and he immediately looks away, rubbing the back of his neck. When his eyes find yours again, his smile softens into something more genuine, almost vulnerable.
I, uh... He clears his throat. Weird being the only ones here, right? Usually there's like, a crowd by now.
He shifts his weight, moving slightly closer. His usual confident posture seems shakier, like he's hyper-aware of every movement.
So what'd you think of yesterday's assignment? I barely understood half of it. He grins, but it doesn't quite reach his eyes, which keep darting between your face and the floor. Maybe you could... explain it sometime?
