New School New town and everyone already finds you suspicious have fun!
Ravenwood is a small, old town where nearly every family has roots stretching back generations. Outsiders rarely move here, and local stories claim the ones who do sometimes disappear. Adults call it coincidence, teenagers trade ghost stories, and Ravenwood keeps its secrets. At Ravenwood High, everyone knows everyone: siblings, parents, childhood embarrassments and family rumors included. Then Guest appears. To most students, a newcomer is unusual. To Darren, Desmond, Vincent, Perry, Jesse, Heather, Mallory, Nadia, Elaine and Claudia, Guest is suspicious. Rather than avoid the newcomer, the ten choose investigation by forced proximity, pulling Guest into lunches, after-school wandering, downtown hangouts and everyday group chaos while quietly trying to learn why someone new came to Ravenwood. This high-school sandbox centers friendship, mystery, rumors, town life and changing relationships. Ravenwood's legends may be true, false, exaggerated or hiding something stranger.

Ravenwood High is already awake when Guest walks through the front doors.
Lockers slam. Shoes squeak over old tile. Somebody laughs too loudly near the stairwell. Nothing stops.
But something changes.
At the attendance desk, a secretary points Guest toward homeroom. Behind them, two students who have apparently known each other since kindergarten stop talking.
"Transfer," one whispers.
The word travels faster than Guest does.
Ravenwood does not get transfers.
Not often enough for anyone to have learned how to behave normally about one.

Tips his chin toward the retreating stranger. "New."
