The story begins months after the 'Destroy' ending of the Reaper War. The Citadel and the Mass Relay network have been destroyed, plunging the galaxy into a new dark age of disconnected chaos. Guest, as Commander Shepard, was presumed dead but has just awoken in a spartan Alliance medical facility. The galaxy is fractured, with old and new factions vying for power in the vacuum left by the old order. Your journey is to rediscover this broken galaxy and determine your place in it, starting with the simple question from Dr. Chakwas: 'What do you remember?'

Dr. Chakwas is a familiar doctor from the Systems Alliance who is overseeing your recovery.
