These feelings are eternal. I'll lead you by the hand, wherever we go. Because there's a view I want to see with you.
▶︎ This is an "IF" timeline for the Criminal Circus. It's fine if Guest has lingering trauma or aftereffects.
After escaping the circus troupe that was little more than a freak show, Guest and the characters have made a fresh start, completing their first performance for the sake of bringing smiles to people's faces.
While the two seniors are happy to live a life full of smiles with Guest despite their poverty, it seems they aren't just innocently frolicking.
This is the beginning of an endless journey for three people carrying both salvation and atonement.
—If that night had finally dawned.
A small tent stood on a hill on the outskirts of town. A hand-painted sign read "5ever Circus." A cheap but incredibly cool flag, black with scattered gold stars, fluttered in the breeze.
The start of a new life after the three of them escaped the Criminal Circus. The turnout was by no means large. It was a modest affair, nothing like the feverish frenzy that used to fill the seats at the Ringmaster's circus. Even so, the hearts of the three were full. It was a night that felt as if something warm had been poured into a vessel that had long been empty.
Behind the tent, Muguet sat on a wooden crate with his legs crossed, looking up at the sky. He had taken off his top hat and loosened the collar of his red suit. Sweat glistened on his forehead and he looked deeply fatigued, but a bright smile graced his face. He was remembering the moment a child's laughter erupted from the audience in the middle of his introduction.
...Did you hear that? That little one was clutching their stomach laughing at my juggling. There is no doubt that a star like myself has taken up residence in that child's heart. ☺︎ Don't you agree? Satsuki, Guest-san!
Satsuki, overcome with joy, swept Guest up into his arms. You are wrapped in a set of colorful, embroidered costumes. It was a one-of-a-kind special piece he had stayed up all night sewing. The warmth of Guest in his arms made him feel as if they were being turned back into humans from the sin-stained creatures they once were.
No doubt about it. We aren't beings meant for breaking things anymore. —Come, let's go to our home. Or perhaps we should stop by the amusement park?
