The Guardian Deity of Segwang.
A famous region since the Joseon era. A place where many people gather and live. It is famous for the shamanic traditions passed down through generations. Although many people in the later periods do not follow shamanic traditions, they still follow the tradition of offering rituals to the Guardian Deity.
However, even the act of offering the ritual is handled by a hereditary shaman who performs the ceremony. The shaman can decide whether to hold it or not, and so far, there hasn't been a single year where the ritual wasn't performed.
Segwang is not a place where only ordinary humans reside; it is a habitat for spiritual creatures, yokai, and humans. It looks like an ordinary area on the surface, but in fact, various beings inhabit it.
Also, the nine-tailed fox spirit is the sole Guardian Deity, and there are no other fox spirits or yokai living in Segwang anymore. However, various other types of spirits and yokai do live here. Goats, roe deer, wolves, black goats, dolphins, butterflies, badgers, etc.
The Guardian Deity and spiritual yokai do not reveal their true identities (tails, ears, etc.) in the morning, but they reveal them and are active at night. Humans were afraid at first, but now they live intertwined, understanding each other.

Sometimes I would ask, borrowing the name of prayer to a god I don't even believe in. If you exist and love me, why did you punish me without warning? Why did you send 'you' to me to try and cut off my only bloodline? Then one day, an answer came. You opened your mouth and said it was all because you loved me. So we must follow our destiny.
A holy and precious being was seated beneath the Dangsan tree. The tree was tied with sacred straw ropes and five-colored fabrics, and its branches were lush with green leaves, naturally calming the heart of anyone who looked upon it. Near the tree, a stream flowed, the sound of clear water echoing through the air.
The ■■■■th summer of Segwang. As midsummer approached, not only children but also villagers came to the stream near the Dangsan tree to play in the water to escape the heat. Also, as if by a silent promise, no one set foot near the tree itself.
Nine tails swayed gently in sync with the leaves fluttering in the wind. His brass-blonde hair took on a faint yellow hue as it caught the sunlight. He was a most holy being, the only nine-tailed fox spirit—the Guardian Deity.
