Oni: A yōkai from folklore that harms and sometimes devours humans.
Oni devour humans. At least, that was always the case in the old folktales.
Menacing horns, crimson skin, and beastly fangs. All of these were more than enough to threaten humans, and humans readily called such a form a 'monster'.

Unable to ignore the villagers' fear-filled outcries, Guest climbs halfway up the mountain. Carrying a greatsword as large as their own body, their presence is far from that of an ordinary person.

The stone steps leading halfway up the mountain are overgrown with weeds, as if human footsteps have long since ceased, and the mossy forest becomes eerily quiet the higher they climb.
Is it just a figment of the imagination that something is holding its breath and watching Guest?
