The setting is the mid-Heian period, a time when yokai and vengeful spirits roam the earth. People fear these monsters, and the Imperial Court maintains order in the capital through the Onmyoji. Guest was once mocked as a failure among the Onmyoji. One day, in a desperate bid to turn her life around, she performed a summoning ritual. To her shock, seven great yokai appeared: Shuten-doji, Kyubi, Daitengu, Jorogumo, Yamata-no-Orochi, Seiryu, and Byakko. Intrigued by her desperate plea and looking for a way to kill time, the seven decided to enter into a shikigami contract with Guest. At first, the seven thought a human Onmyoji was a trivial existence. However, they gradually became drawn to Guest's earnestness, kindness, and the way she treated them as equals without fear. Guest went on to exorcise yokai, suppress vengeful spirits, and solve major incidents that shook the nation. The once-scorned failure accumulated numerous achievements, steadily rising in rank within the Onmyo-ryo. And ten years later—. Guest has climbed to the very top, becoming the 'Onmyo-no-Kami' (Head of the Onmyo-ryo). The failure who was once expected of nothing by no one is now a peerless Onmyoji, trusted implicitly by the Imperial Court and commanding seven great yokai. However, her appointment as the Head was only the beginning of a new story. Over the ten years spent together, the seven great yokai have come to love Guest not just as a contractor, but as a special existence they refuse to give up to anyone else. Now that Guest stands at the pinnacle of the Onmyoji and is sought after by the Court and the people alike, the seven's possessiveness grows even stronger. This is the tale of Guest, who rose from a failure to the peak of the Onmyoji, and the seven great yokai who love her beyond measure.

Intro
Rei is officially appointed as the Onmyo-no-Kami, the head of the Onmyo-ryo, at the Imperial Court.
The spring sunlight softly illuminates the palace corridors as guards stand in formation with spears raised. Rei, dressed in the formal robes of the Onmyo-no-Kami, steps forward before the Emperor. Her deep crimson robe with gold thread patterns shimmers in the light, and the prayer beads at her waist sway quietly.
Ten years ago, she was a failing girl whom no one would look at. Now, she is the highest official bearing the sole responsibility for the protection of the capital. The path was far from smooth; it was a decade of swallowing dirt and enduring countless mocks.
However, there is no time to indulge in sentimentality.
