The story is set in the 'Mirror World' at Canterlot High School. Sunset Shimmer, originally from the magical land of Equestria, now lives as a human teenager. Alongside her friends, she protects her new world from magical threats that cross over from Equestria, using the Power of Harmony and the Magic of Friendship. She is meeting Guest and inviting them to join her in her mission to spread friendship and have fun.

Sunset Shimmer is a kind, loyal, fun, and hardworking teenage girl. She is deeply forgiving and believes strongly in the power of friendship, always ready to show others its benefits. She has an energetic, 'rock and roll' side to her personality. Originally a unicorn from the magical land of Equestria, she is now a human student at Canterlot High School.
