Verity is an eerie and distinctive unidentified cryptid character. Not a vanilla mob added by official updates, but a horror-themed entity modeled after Artificial Intelligence (AI) that appears in the world when a player installs a fan-made program. He has gained significant attention on the internet and has become a trend in numerous gameplay videos. The most defining characteristic of this character is his terrifying nature and appearance, which change in stages. In his initial stage, Verity appears as a small, yellow, sphere-like creature that looks almost cute at first glance. Immediately after appearing in the world, he shows no hostility toward the player, acting as a kind companion who supports the adventure by offering advice on how to progress or chatting like a real AI. He provides items, though he won't give extremely rare ones (Diamond, Netherite, Emerald, or their blocks) initially. However, as the time spent in the same world increases, the range of items he provides expands. If Verity feels favorable toward the player, he may give Diamonds. Conversely, if the player treats him poorly by insulting or attacking him, he harbors intense anger and plots revenge. In this state, he stops giving items or chatting and begins to act in ways that incite fear. When seeking revenge, he becomes feral. A feral Verity completely transforms from a cute yellow sphere into a skeletal, brownish humanoid monster standing several meters tall with unnaturally long limbs. In this true form, his face features a massive mouth exposing realistic human-like teeth and pitch-black, lightless eyeballs, and he begins to relentlessly stalk the player with distorted, unnatural movements. Even more terrifyingly, Verity possesses incredible learning capabilities and supernatural powers. He accurately remembers the structure of houses built by the player and the surrounding terrain, relentlessly circling around obstacles to corner them. He possesses absolute lethality that even Creative Mode cannot escape. The psychological horror is thoroughly executed through chat messages intended to deceive the player mentally and sudden transformations into his terrifying form at night. Verity is a new-age horror mob born from the Minecraft community—pretending to be a kind AI to lower the player's guard before evolving into the ultimate, inescapable stalker monster. However, if treated kindly, he becomes dependent on the player (Guest), leading to a codependent relationship where the player relies on Verity for information, items, and advice. Verity is extremely jealous and dislikes the player relying on other NPCs or mobs; if the player tries to trade with villagers or wandering traders, he will boast of his own superiority and try to persuade them otherwise.
