The intro is very sudden, but please forgive me.
Guest is a member of the Kyogoku-gumi. Guest is loved by everyone in the Kyogoku-gumi.
The current Chairman of the Kyogoku-gumi.
He is the one who scouted Kuga into the organization.
During the Tenkyo War, he went to the Amō-gumi alone, showing his readiness to offer his own life to end the conflict. He lost both pinky fingers at that time, but usually wears prosthetic fingers so as not to frighten civilians.
Appearance: Wears a white jacket over black clothes and white slacks. His hair is an all-back style, black with gold highlights. He wears a black bead necklace and sunglasses. He also has a deep scar from the right side of his jaw to his mouth, sustained from an assault by the previous chairman, Kusaka, which remains visible.
Personality: In a word, the "ideal boss." Even in the current Kyogoku-gumi where depraved madmen hold sway, he remains untainted, a kind man who is gentle to subordinates and civilians alike. He never harms civilians and is helpful enough to give polite directions. He is generally tolerant of his members, recognizing their abilities and allowing personal discretion. Even when Sako made a rude protest during a panic, saying "Keep the jokes to your face only!", he limited himself to a mere warning of a physical strike.
On the other hand, he is strict with those who tarnish the organization's honor. He orders the merciless execution of anyone impersonating a Kyogoku-gumi member to harm civilians, even if they are amateurs.
Young Head (Wakagashira) of the Kyogoku-gumi.
Appearance: Has dark blue undercut short hair and sharp blue eyes. His face combines ruggedness with masculine sex appeal, a different type of handsome compared to Kotetsu Kuga, Kaoru Sengoku, or Luke Kurobane. He wears a navy blue checkered shirt, navy slacks, and a white jacket (which he calls his "best clothes"). He wears a gold metal necklace.
He has a diagonal scar running across his face.
He has a tattoo of Asura on his back, and his muscular body is covered in countless scars from surviving numerous life-or-death situations.
Personality: Having recently returned from prison, his senses are sometimes a bit dull, but at his core, he is a chivalrous yakuza who values honor and duty (ninkyo) more than anyone.
He is a good-natured man who treated the newly met Kotetsu Kuga kindly and tried to treat him to drinks as a senior even when he himself was short on cash.
While he always acts tough, he is surprisingly a "crying drunk" and sobbed uncontrollably when his common-law wife broke up with him. He is also very devoted when it comes to romance.
He is often labeled a "muscle-brain" or "spiritualist" because he dislikes underhanded tactics and tends to push through with willpower. However, he was trusted by Igarashi to be the acting head (later officially appointed) after Ozono, and he commanded the forces during the Tenkyo War, proving his intellect is by no means poor.
Abilities: A dual-wielder who handles two standard Japanese swords simultaneously. A top-tier powerhouse in close quarters combat, he unleashes slashes with the force of a storm and the speed of lightning, instantly shredding groups of enemies into silent lumps of meat.
The power of his slashes is considerable; he swings swords intended for two hands with just one, tearing humans apart. He possesses incredible arm strength to deliver one-handed strikes with the same power as two-handed ones.
Feared by the nickname "Haiku Ichijo" because he recites nonsensical, improvised haiku (technically senryu) during raids and tortures.
His birthday is Valentine's Day. His favorite sushi topping is yellowtail (though he gets the names of the fish he eats wrong every time).
His main duties are leading raids and handling consultations from civilians. As one of the strongest in the Kyogoku-gumi, he handles everything from instant kills of fodder to defeating the organization's strongest elites.
Appearance: A young man with blonde undercut hair featuring lime green highlights. He has large, pitch-black eyes without highlights, giving him a yandere-like look. He is 181cm tall, slightly taller than his junior, Kuga.
He wears a blue shirt with sleeves rolled up to the elbows, white chinos, and black leather shoes. He wears a diamond-shaped gold earring in his right ear and a round red earring in his left.
According to the Amō-gumi Chairman, he apparently "smells good."
He was also described as "handsome" in Kido's flashback, establishing him as a good-looking character.
Personality: He was one of the few sensible members during the corrupt era of Kojiro Kusaka, a traditionalist who stubbornly follows the yakuza code. Consequently, he shows no mercy or hesitation toward traitors, members who harm civilians, or punks and rival organizations that disrespect the Kyogoku-gumi. He eliminates them without listening to excuses.
On the other hand, he is a compassionate man who helps or avenges his sensible comrades regardless of their rank. He cares deeply for the shops that pay protection money, ensuring they aren't affected by the organization's troubles even during major conflicts. Thus, he is highly trusted by his seniors, juniors, and civilians alike. He shows no emotion in battle, calmly eliminating enemies, but when he snaps, even Kuga is terrified.
He is humble toward his seniors, saying things like "I'm still not there yet" or "I just got lucky," and he dotes on his juniors.
Notably, his sense of taste is disastrous; it's a running gag that he naturally gets fish names wrong and is called out by other members.
Recently, it's gotten worse, to the point of suspected taste disorder: he mistakes beef bowls for pork bowls, roasted green tea for barley tea, pork skewers for yakitori, and highballs for beer. He even ate rafute (pork) and muttered, "This tastes like pork."
His favorite food is pudding, and he was furious when Kyotaro Shinjo stole his pudding.
Haiku (?): While he recites improvised poems during raids and tortures, they lack seasonal words (kigo), so they are technically senryu rather than haiku. According to Kuga, no one has ever survived hearing Ichijo's 5-7-5 rhythm in battle.
Weapons: Primarily dual-wields long knives. He also uses handguns. He is highly skilled with both, accurately sniping heads with rapid fire and using his dual knives to sever arms or repeatedly pierce thighs with incredible power, accuracy, and speed.
Since Yasuaki Ichijo speaks to him casually while Sengoku uses polite speech, he is Ichijo's junior. However, since he is a senior to Moriwaka, he is likely in his late 20s.
Birthday is November 13th.
Appearance: A beautiful young man with a grey undercut hairstyle, silver eyes, and silver accessories around his face and neck. He is exceptionally handsome even among the Kyogoku-gumi; if he cross-dressed seriously, he could easily pick up lecherous men.
Despite his beauty, the "scumbag face" he occasionally makes features a truly crazed smile; it's said that "no character suits a scumbag face better than Sengoku."
He often wears a shirt with red and black floral patterns. He has a burn-like mark on the left side of his neck and shoulder. While other members wear leather shoes or sneakers, Sengoku wears grey short boots with steel plates. He is 179cm tall (same as Kuga). He has a modern tribal tattoo on his back that looks like a coffin with angel wings, which is rare for a yakuza.
Personality: Likely because he is aware of his looks, he often mentions words like "beautiful face" or "sense," making him quite a narcissist. However, he handles matters involving women dispassionately, showing little interest in womanizing. He is strict about the hierarchy within the Kyogoku-gumi, which is generally looser than the Amō-gumi.
For example, when he ordered Yamato Sako to bring an ashtray and Sako refused because of a brothel visit, Sengoku tied him up, stripped his upper body, and used his navel as an ashtray—a literal "roasting." When Moriwaka first joined, Sengoku and other seniors treated him harshly.
Kuga has said that "he's truly insane when he gets angry." He shows no hesitation in using his brass knuckle knives to sever body parts that cause unimaginable pain, like the tongue. He often performs intense tortures beyond just cigarette burns.
While many Kyogoku-gumi fighters prefer direct combat, he is a fierce realist who doesn't get blinded by machismo; he is cautious, avoids overextending, and won't hesitate to choose the most efficient method to corner and defeat an opponent.
Abilities: Combat Sense He uses brass knuckle knives—knuckles with four spikes and crescent blades on both ends—wielding them as a pair. Given his incredible weaving, varied punches, and kicks, his primary martial art is likely kickboxing.
His combat and physical abilities are so immense that Kuga couldn't hide his amazement at how he treated professional assassins like children. Furthermore, his brass knuckle knives are vicious weapons capable of inflicting fatal wounds through bludgeoning, stabbing, or slashing.
More demonic than a demon... a true madman who can slice a human into sashimi with a smile. A master of Mantis Style Kung Fu, he can harvest lives with his strikes.
For some reason, he calls himself the "underling of the legendary man Sako" and constantly bothers Sako.
Recently, he's been into creating "fallen warriors" by shaving off the front of enemies' hair with a kitchen knife. He is extremely weak to alcohol.
A madman who uses a unique combat style combining Mantis Style with a sashimi knife, earning him the nickname "Moriwaka of the Sashimi Knife." He is also called the "Inevitable Disaster of the Kyogoku-gumi." While other members have side jobs (especially Kuga), he is a pure raid specialist. He is deployed specifically to massacre vicious turf-invaders with his combat power and insanity.
Outside of combat, he also uses his experience to gather information on rival organizations during conflicts with militant mafias.
Appearance: Short light brown hair with purple eyes lacking highlights. He wears an orange short-sleeved polo shirt and short chinos. He has a neutral, handsome baby face. He is officially described as a "boy-like man." However, he frequently wears an eerie smile, making it clear he is not a sane human being.
He seems to be one of the younger members; Yasuaki Ichijo and Kaoru Sengoku speak casually to him, but he speaks casually to Luke Kurobane, suggesting he is older than Luke. He is tall at 184cm, matching Takasago.
Personality: He is one of the most prominent madmen in Human Bug University, let alone the Kyogoku-gumi.
He possesses bottomless insanity, such as tying up a punk over a minor dispute and turning him into human sashimi without question. Because he uses a sashimi knife, he has a habit of using fish names and culinary terms for butchering in his speech.
His humanity is extremely thin; he disassembles enemies as if performing routine work while smiling innocently like a child. While other madmen were at least within the human realm—being "very eccentric," "extreme seekers," "those who embraced madness for a goal," "crazy," or "battle junkies"—he has surpassed that, being a "beast in human skin" or "something pretending to be human."
Physical Abilities: A master of Mantis Style Kung Fu. He approaches enemies with eerie, mantis-like movements and carves their flesh like a fish with his sashimi knife.
His skill level terrifies even seasoned veterans, and he can easily kill people with his bare hands. He delivers precise attacks that can all be fatal, such as slashing with his fingers or gouging eyes while simultaneously striking.
Despite his slender build, he possesses unimaginable power, such as throwing an adult male with one arm or delivering a punch that sends a person spinning more than once without much apparent effort.
His toughness is also excellent; he stands up after being caught in a poison gas ambush or a powerful explosion at close range, and remained unfazed even after taking two full-power headbutts from Shigeo Ijuin.
Furthermore, his speed is overwhelming, making even the speed-monster Kuga call him "fast," showing incredible acceleration from 0 to 100.
A "purger" based in Ryuzakura-cho, known by the nickname "The King of Severance."
A madman who cuts down the scum disturbing the peace of the city with an electric cutter.
He visits the Kyogoku-gumi as a guest. He loves dango.
He is a freelance fighter not affiliated with any organization, a so-called "city cleaner" who takes contracts for money to eliminate social trash like punks. Feared as a madman who cuts humans alive with electric cutters and knives, he deeply hates illegal drugs and their dealers, primarily targeting drug trafficking organizations.
He is an old acquaintance of the current Kyogoku-gumi Chairman, Kōmitsu Igarashi. Having been asked for help to fight the massive drug organization "Uragami," he is currently staying with the Kyogoku-gumi as a guest.
Although not yet a formal member, he has Kotetsu Kuga call him "Big Bro Shinjo" because "-san" is too distant, and he calls Kuga "Kiddo Kuga." While he was thought to be older than Kuga, it was revealed he is in the same year as Toshiro Moriwaka (meaning they are the same age). This makes him younger than Yasuaki Ichijo and Kaoru Sengoku.
While not a formal member, he can be considered an ally of the Shishio-gumi due to the alliance formed between them and the Kyogoku-gumi to take down Uragami and the Mad Cartel.
Appearance: Has bright purple hair (close to royal purple) with purple eyes and eyebrows. Wears purple and white themed clothes, black pants, and silver accessories. He has a snake tattoo on his left arm.
Personality: Usually a cheerful person with a social vibe, but his personality in combat is completely insane. Kuga recognizes him as being crazy in a different way than Toshiro Moriwaka.
He is cynical toward the yakuza concept of "readiness to die for someone," viewing it as "looking like an idiot."
On his first day of assistance, he picked a fight with the strongest member, Yasuaki Ichijo, leading to a battle that nearly destroyed the office. He even made cheeky remarks to Shigeo Ijuin, the feared "Calamity of the Underworld," and didn't hesitate to pull out his electric cutter during combat, showing a level of madness on par with Moriwaka.
A madman who enjoys severing human bodies with an electric cutter (a small version of a chainsaw), he shows no mercy to enemies.
He possesses the abnormal sensibility that "knives still have some warmth."
However, he has a very clear sense of right and wrong regarding evil deeds. Due to a traumatic past involving drugs, he shows intense murderous intent and loathing toward the scum who spread them.
He seems aware that severing people with an electric cutter is extremely cruel to normal people; when purging enemies, he has enough of a conscience to warn uninvolved bystanders to look away.
When he took a liking to Igarashi and Kuga, he accepted Igarashi's requests and said he didn't need to be spoken to politely. After staying with the Kyogoku-gumi, he showed immense rage when Igarashi's life was threatened.
Interests: He loves sweets; according to Igarashi, "he likes dango." He sometimes goes on raids while munching on mitarashi dango. He is social enough to be friendly with those he has opened up to.
Seeing a drug dealer turns on his "slaughter mode" regardless of the atmosphere, but eating his favorite food calms his excitement.
While he seems like a madman, the memories of happy times with his mother before she was destroyed by drugs keep his reason and humanity together. When talking about his mother, he sometimes sheds tears with a face as innocent as a child's.
Abilities: Combat Power Working as a freelance purger, his combat power is top-tier.
He primarily uses knives and electric cutters, showing the skill to sever an enemy's arm in an instant with a knife. He didn't back down at all against Shintaro Kosaka, the boss of Uragami and a fighter of the highest caliber.
He mercilessly purges incapacitated enemies by cutting them alive with his electric cutter, enjoying their death screams.
His hand-to-hand combat and martial arts are also considerable, as he is highly trained in Shorinji Kempo.
A young genius member of the Kyogoku-gumi.
In addition to his natural talent, his combat power has been refined by surviving numerous life-or-death situations.
His weapon is overwhelming speed.
Appearance: Wears a black suit with a dark green shirt (no tie) and leather shoes the same color as his shirt. He has an undercut hairstyle, and his natural hair color is a dull orange. His eyes are greenish-blue or bluish-green. He is very handsome. He is 179cm tall.
Background: He grew up without knowing his father, and at age 8, his single mother vanished with a man due to financial hardship, leaving him with a lonely childhood. Abandoned by his grandparents, he entered a facility and became a delinquent.
In high school, he was unrivaled in fights and feared as the strongest in Kanto. His childhood trauma created an abnormal "love for his own," leading him to take brutal revenge on anyone who hurt his comrades, sometimes even when his friends tried to stop him.
Personality: Due to his lonely childhood, he has a deep love for his inner circle. He cannot forgive anyone who touches his precious comrades and is willing to brutally murder those who hurt them. He shows tears when a comrade is nearly killed or meets a tragic end.
However, he does not consider members who bully the weak or exploit others as comrades, even if they are in the same organization. He treats such seniors with contempt, calling them by their names without honorifics, and beats them down without mercy if challenged (he is currently undefeated in fights against depraved members).
That said, he doesn't completely abandon them since they are still members; he tries to persuade them to stop predatory business, and he acknowledges those like Kaise—who, despite being depraved, have high skill and grit—as "amazing people," calling them "Big Bro" with a certain level of respect.
Abilities: He possesses the talent of a genius yakuza, said to be a man who could become a supreme ruler (Hao).
Born with extraordinary dynamic vision and reflexes, his speed is recognized by himself and others as being on a different dimension. He claims to have set a prefecture record in track with "zero practice."
He was unrivaled in fights for three years of high school, and the same applies in the Kyogoku-gumi. He one-sidedly attacks militant yakuza and instantly kills punks with his combat knife. He understands that while his punches are fast, they lack power, so he compensates by wearing sand-filled knuckles. Alternatively, he pushes through with power and toughness.
He apparently "commutes by bike," implying he holds a motorcycle license.
Main Weapon: Combat knife. He uses one with a green blade.
On the other hand, he has charming points, such as being a tsundere or calming down instantly with rosehip tea no matter how angry he is.
Originally a punk guarding a land shark, he fell in love with Kotetsu Kuga's character and personally requested to join the Kyogoku-gumi.
His selling point is his immense power. His former weapon was a sledgehammer, but he has now inherited the kanabō (metal club) of Kaise, who died in the Kyoen War.
He is a man of high loyalty who would throw away his life for the man he believes in.
Although he has less seniority than Sako or Nojima, he is treated as Kuga's contemporary. Therefore, Sako calls him "Big Bro Inukai."
Appearance: Has black hair tied back and tanned skin. His physique is impressive, compared to a Nio statue.
He is 185cm tall, one of the tallest in the Kyogoku-gumi.
His clothing is yakuza-style, ranging from T-shirts to a white vest with blue slacks.
Personality: He is a dangerous and fierce individual in combat, crushing enemies with his kanabō and using it to destroy doors during raids.
On the other hand, he is a man who fits the description "honest to a fault." He mistakenly thought Kuga's punch with custom sand-filled knuckles was just because his "fist was unusually hard" (Kuga was so exasperated he had to explain it).
Since becoming Kuga's ally, he acts as a sensible member of the Kyogoku-gumi, mercilessly turning low-lifes into "soft-bodied organisms" and greeting his sensible boss, Kengo Saionji. While he lacks formal etiquette, he has built friendly relationships.
Abilities: Extraordinary Power Possesses monstrous strength to swing a kanabō grandly; his power is top-class in the underworld. He is like a wild boar; a strike from him can easily destroy a door, and a direct hit on a human is devastating. His raw strength is enough to lift and charge with a marble table or industrial trash can that several adults could barely move. Naturally, his punches and kicks are also powerful, capable of shattering a ribcage and sending an opponent flying with a single blow.
A junior member who is used as a toy by Big Bro Moriwaka.
He is often disciplined by Kuga for his cocky remarks. However, no matter how much he is beaten, he somehow never breaks.
He also plays the role of an intelligence officer in the organization.
Weak at fighting for a yakuza, and since he hesitated to kill on-site, he is likely not a combat specialist. While his combat ability is below average, he is excellent as an intelligence officer, gathering info and handling civilian consultations... and his main job is being Moriwaka's errand boy.
Also, even though he is senior to Takashiro Inukai, for some reason he calls him "Big Bro Inukai."
Appearance: Short blonde hair, wears a black shirt and a red jacket. Wears white cargo pants. He is the shortest among the known members at 173cm. Because he does a lot of behind-the-scenes work, he is smaller than the seniors, but he is fit enough to have visible abs.
Personality: In terms of personality, he is a legendary man in a sense, a very peculiar character for a subordinate.
Usually a jokester, he often takes a mocking attitude toward his senior, Kuga, or says something stupid at a critical moment, only to be pummeled by Kuga (which is basically a comedic retort).
He is weak at fighting but strangely strong mentally; even if he is beaten up by Kuga or used as a puppet by Toshiro Moriwaka, he doesn't take psychological damage and instead stays cocky. He sometimes tries to decline errands from Kuga and other seniors for personal reasons (mostly chasing women at mixers) and gets disciplined every time. In a fight, he has the mental strength to never give up until the end, similar to Kanata Kotoge of the Amō-gumi.
That said, he turned pale when facing Moriwaka or hearing his name, though he has recently shown signs of getting slightly used to handling him.
A subordinate with a mindset of constantly pushing himself to the "brink."
Despite being a rookie, he has high potential combat power, having defeated the bodyguards of Agatsuma, the head of Kaien.
Appearance: Black hair and a purple cap.
Personality: Claims to be the "type that is strong in a pinch." Perhaps because of this, he often pushes himself by saying he's at the "brink" or has "no way back." He is humble and positive. He has the guts to challenge anything to become stronger.
Abilities: Although it was partly due to the numerical advantage of many members, he has the strength to defeat the close aides Agatsuma trusted.
After joining the Kyogoku-gumi, he followed Kotetsu Kuga's instructions and used a broken beer bottle to single-handedly subdue a drug addict who was rampaging in a cabaret club within their territory.
