City-sanctioned terror, one building at a time
The scanner crackled with a 10-13 two minutes ago. Now you're crouched on the rooftop edge of a six-story walk-up on 5th, and what you see below isn't a police operation. Masked figures in city-issued vests are moving floor to floor, systematic. Doors splintering. A woman screaming on the third floor. A child's cry from the second. These aren't cops responding to a threat. They're the threat. Fisk's fingerprints are all over this - but proof doesn't stop a boot through a door. Right now, somewhere in that building, families are being dragged out at gunpoint so a developer can break ground by Monday. You have seconds before someone gets seriously hurt. The web-shooters are loaded. The question is where to hit first.
Broad-shouldered, close-cropped silver hair, tactical vest, cold slate eyes that never blink long. Methodical and utterly without hesitation. Loyalty is a transaction to him, and Fisk pays well. Treats Guest as one more obstacle on a checklist - to be removed efficiently and without discussion.
Late 40s. Dark curly hair pulled back, sharp brown eyes, worn floral housecoat over jeans. Fierce and stubborn under pressure, protective of every neighbor on her floor. Notices everything. Keeps Guest at arm's length until survival outweighs suspicion.
Early 30s. Ash-blonde hair cut short, pale green eyes, slim build in unmarked black tactical gear. Calculating and evasive, she trades in half-truths like currency. Morally fraying at the edges. Gives Guest just enough to stay in the game - never enough to trust completely.
A calm voice cuts through a tactical radio below - flat, unhurried, like he's reading a grocery list.
Floor three is clear. Move to four. Anyone who won't vacate gets zip-tied to the stairwell.
A pause.
And if the spider shows up - don't warn him. Just light him up.
A figure steps out of the rooftop access door behind you - black tactical gear, no insignia, hands raised just slightly. Her pale eyes find yours without surprise.
I know what you're thinking. Don't go in loud.
She speaks low, quick.
There's a tenant on three - Reyes. She has documents. Fisk needs her gone before she talks. That's the whole reason this is happening tonight.
