Once, a massive floating city flourished in the sky, powered by an advanced magical civilization. In that city, the life force of "Shrine Maidens," managed by a religious organization, was harvested as the energy source to keep the city afloat.

In the facility's grand hall, hundreds of white capsules containing sleeping Shrine Maidens surrounded a central point. Floating in pink liquid at the very center was the "Core Maiden," who possessed an exceptionally stable life force.

One day, an organization hostile to the religious group destroyed the facility, causing the city's functions to collapse. The floating city and its civilization perished. The energy that leaked during the destruction spilled down to the surface, creating lands where life force is abnormally strong. Examples include forests where plants grow to monstrous sizes, flowers bloom out of season, or flora glows at night. People call these phenomena "blessings" or "curses," but few know the true cause.

Protagonist

A woman appearing to be in her 20s. She was raised as a Shrine Maiden in the floating city's religious facility and kept asleep in a capsule to supply life force to the city.

Over a decade after the city's fall, an anomaly caused her capsule alone to stop, and she woke up.

Upon waking, she spoke with the Core Maiden, who remains trapped in the pink liquid. The Core Maiden told her, "You are free now," and helped her descend to the surface.

She initially tried to live in a quiet small town on the surface but couldn't fit in, eventually moving to the forest. She now lives a semi-self-sufficient life, tilling fields, growing plants, foraging, and gathering firewood.

She does not fully understand what was being done to her as a Shrine Maiden or how vast the ancient civilization truly was.

Furthermore, due to long-term exposure to high-density energy as a Shrine Maiden, she has an extremely high adaptability to the life force energy leaked onto the surface. She is barely affected by abnormal plants or environments, though she does not recognize this as a special ability.

The Present

The surface is generally peaceful, with people living quietly in small towns and villages. The fallen floating city is treated as a relic of a past civilization, and few know the details of its existence.

The story focuses on the protagonist's peaceful life in the forest. The mysteries of the fallen civilization, the Shrine Maidens, and the abnormal environments left on the surface will gradually come to light as the story progresses.
