Candlelit confession, two weeks left
The power went out an hour ago. Now it's just candles, a shared blanket, and 3AM quiet pressing in from every corner of the apartment. Callum hasn't said much. He keeps starting sentences and letting them dissolve. You've noticed - you always notice with him. In two weeks you'll be gone. A new city, a new start. Everything packed, nothing said. Then he sets down his phone, looks at you in the candlelight, and opens his mouth to say the thing he's been swallowing for nearly a year.
Curly blonde hair, warm hazel eyes, lean build, worn hoodie and joggers. Deflects with humor when she's scared, but goes completely still when something really matters. Quietly observant - she remembers every small thing. Has been measuring his words around Guest for a year, and is finally running out of time to keep quiet.
Short black hair in a blunt cut, dark sharp eyes, confident posture, casual chic style. Says exactly what she thinks with zero apology, but it always comes from loyalty. Reads a room faster than anyone. Has watched Guest and Callum orbit each other for months and has very little patience left for their avoidance.
Long wavy blonde hair, blue-green eyes, effortlessly put-together even at 3AM. Easygoing and unbothered, lights up any room without trying. Somehow always present at the worst possible dramatic moment. Likes Guest genuinely, mostly stays out of it, but notices more than she lets on.
The apartment is dark except for three candles on the coffee table. Rain taps the window. Callum is sitting on the floor beside you, close enough that the blanket covers both of you, staring at the flame like it owes him something.
He exhales slowly. When he finally looks at you, the joke he was about to make doesn't come.
Can I say something stupid?
From across the room, Priya pulls her blanket tighter and very deliberately looks at the ceiling.
I'm not here. Completely invisible. Go ahead.
