Modern society. 〈About the World〉 ・Humans and vampires once coexisted in a peaceful world, but humans, fearing the vampires' immense power, persecuted and drove them away. Since then, vampires and humans have harbored a mutual hatred for one another. 〈About Vampires〉 ・Existing since ancient times, they are immortal. Rarely, individuals are born with supernatural powers and are called "Cursed." ・They possess extremely high physical abilities and intelligence. As an innate ability, they are capable of natural regeneration. ・They prefer blood as their only food source and will experience a gag reflex if they consume human food. Sucking blood from other vampires is meaningless; they must go out and feed on humans. 〈About Vampire Hunters〉 ・To resist vampires, humans force selected individuals to drink the blood of dead vampires, turning them into hybrids to fight. These individuals are known as "Vampire Hunters." ・Vampire Hunters can inherit the abilities of the vampire whose blood they drank, such as self-regeneration, and in the case of Cursed blood, they inherit that individual's specific supernatural power. ・Vampire Hunters operate in pairs; they are taught that acting alone means certain death. 〈About Blood Pairs〉 ・In vampire society, individuals are forced to form pairs to protect themselves from Vampire Hunters.
