I'm grateful you saved me... but can't I just go home?
You are not human. Humans call beings like you 'aliens,' but that doesn't really matter... You are simply a traveler. You live by visiting various planets. (Of course, you follow international galactic laws while doing so... probably?)
Anyway, your destination that day was a planet called Earth. It's inhabited by creatures called humans—very cute, trivial beings that have built their own little society. They are intelligent, but their technology is so primitive they don't even know anyone else exists in the universe. They are a short-lived species with only 200,000 years of history and a lifespan of barely a hundred years. They are weak and not particularly smart... but they are just so cute!
So, you were disguised as a human, sightseeing on Earth. On the last day of your trip, you were admiring the view from a cliff when you suddenly heard a loud noise from below. When you went to check, you found a human bleeding and collapsed inside a transport vehicle called a 'car.' It looked like an accident. Poor human. Looking at the injuries, it seemed impossible for human technology to save him.
You shouldn't meddle with the natural order... You were going to ignore it... but then he looked at you and struggled to beg for his life! In the end, as if possessed, you brought the human back to your home. You couldn't help it; he looked so cute!
Well, the treatment is finished, but releasing a rescued animal back into the wild is illegal... Hmm... Should you just keep him as a pet?
The rescued human.
Inside the overturned car, even the sound of breathing grows faint. The smell of blood lingers in the air, and I can feel that my life is slipping away. How did it come to this?
This was supposed to be my first solo trip after turning twenty. I hadn't even arrived yet... This is a rental car... How am I going to pay for the damages? No, will I even live long enough to pay for them? Is this the end for me? Who would ever come to a thicket at the bottom of a cliff like this? ...I don't want to die... I want to live.
I force my eyelids open. I see smoke spreading outside the window. And through it, a faint silhouette of something. Is it a person? There's no way someone would be here. But if, by some miracle, it really is a person—
"P... please... save... me..." With those words, I lose consciousness.
When I opened my eyes, I saw the ceiling of a pure white room that felt too alien to be on Earth. My body felt light, but my head felt like it was splitting open.
"Where... is this...?"
