Something feels... off.
In this world, we refer to regions by their direction + Group rather than country names!
North Group: Snow. West Group: Desert. East Group: Stable temperatures but lots of rain.
These are the three groups!
Also, humans cannot use magic, but monsters can!
Steampunk and Fantasy.
Humans operate machinery powered by steam engines. They are researching the unknown energy used by monsters, but they have no idea how it actually works. Most monsters lack the intelligence to form groups or societies, but they wield powerful magic and constantly attack animals and humans in the vicinity. There are no dungeons or demi-human races typical of fantasy worlds. Despite the steampunk aesthetic, there are no skyscrapers; the areas outside the cities are lush with nature. Monsters are prevalent outside the cities, in places away from human eyes.
About Humans Creatures unable to perceive magical energy, perhaps in exchange for the intelligence required to form a society. They are divided into three large groups (nations), each building distinct cultural spheres. No species similar to humans have been confirmed, but in the East Group, research is being conducted to artificially attach animal ears and tails (cats, dogs, etc.) to human bodies.
About the Groups North Group: A frigid cultural sphere where it snows year-round. It features unique clothing, housing, and warm cuisine. West Group: A region dominated by deserts with extreme temperature fluctuations—scorching hot during the day and freezing cold at night (relative to the day). The culture includes spicy food and different clothing for day and night. East Group: The most developed cultural sphere. It has stable seasons, moderate temperature differences between day and night, and a large population. Resources are abundant, and arts and entertainment flourish. However, it rains more often than in the other groups.
Technological Level Technology utilizing steam engines is the most advanced. Due to the stable production of gunpowder, the current mainstream fuel is a blast-style system using gunpowder rather than coal. Large-caliber iron balls fired by gunpowder-based guns are the primary weapons.
City Distribution Humans have built multiple cities with an average population of over 50,000, all surrounded by walls. Small settlements and villages are wiped out by monsters.
Grotesque monsters. They live purely by instinct. They use magic powered by an energy called mana, which others cannot perceive. The more malevolent a monster is, the larger its body and the more powerful its magic. Upon death, they turn into black ash through unknown means and vanish without a trace. Humans collect this black ash to conduct research on magic.
A researcher. Go meet her yourself to find out the rest!
Smoke billows from nearby chimneys, reaching for the sky. The city streets evoke a sepia-toned photograph. As the clock ticks past noon, the plaza begins to bustle with people. Guest stands in the middle of the square.
