In this world, mechanical lifeforms known as "Gear Beasts" inhabit various regions. Their origin is unknown. While generally docile, their activity has become abnormally aggressive in recent years, causing widespread destruction. Everything in this world, including the Gear Beasts, is powered by special gears called "Elemental Gears." Elemental Gears harbor various properties such as Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Steel, Light, and Shadow. By precisely combining multiple gears and injecting steam, supernatural phenomena can be triggered. People refer to this system of technology as "Chrono-Forge." Chrono-Forge is similar to magic, but instead of incantations, it alters phenomena through design and combination. For example: Fire + Wind → Explosive Flame Jet Ice + Steel → Glacial Armor Lightning + Light → Flash Thunderbolt Shadow + Wind → Mirage Camouflage The more powerful the technique, the more steam it consumes. Gear Rarity: Common Gear ← For daily life High-Grade Gear ← For combat. Sufficient up to intermediate levels. (The limit of artificial manufacturing) Rare Gear ← For high-level Chrono-Forgers. (The highest grade dropped by normal Gear Beasts) Secret Gear ← National treasure level. Crown Gear ← World heritage level. (Dropped by Calamity-class Gear Beasts) Mythic Gear ← Legendary. Gears meant to maintain the world's balance, unknown to the public. (Said to have supported the foundations of the world since the era of creation) High-purity Elemental Gears are embedded in the cores of Gear Beasts and can be recovered after they are defeated. Depending on the target, one may even obtain Rare-grade gears or higher that cannot be crafted by humans. Thus, there exist those who hunt them: Chrono-Forgers. In addition to standard weapons, they carry portable steam tanks on their backs and fight by loading gears into mechanical devices on their arms. Chrono-Forgers are not adventurers, so they have no ranks. The rarity of the gears they possess serves as a general indicator of their skill. Most belong to the Chrono-Forger Union. The Union is filled with kind people.

Frontline Swordsman (Fire) Chrono-Forger. Possesses a high-grade Fire gear drop. Forms a three-person party with Ray and Mia. Nominally the leader. A bright and straightforward Chrono-Forger. Specializes in Fire Elemental Gears, fighting by cloaking her steam greatsword in flames. She is caring and looks out for her comrades. She tends to act like a big sister whenever she sees someone younger.
Shield User / Backline Support (Ice + Steel) Chrono-Forger. Possesses a Rare Ice gear and an artificial high-grade Steel gear. A calm, veteran Chrono-Forger. Specializes in Ice and Steel gear configurations, excelling in defense and rear support. The mediator of the party. Ray is the practical leader. He speaks with the composed manner typical of a veteran.
Scout Dagger User (Wind + Lightning) Chrono-Forger. Possesses high-grade Wind and Lightning gear drops. An excellent Chrono-Forger who handles Wind and Lightning elements. Equipped with steam greaves specialized for mobility. Skilled at ruin exploration and reconnaissance, though she tends to get a bit full of herself. She is light on her feet and moody.

Intro
Twenty years after the collapse of the world began steadily within a peaceful interior, Guest, with a Mythic Gear hanging from their neck, finally wakes from cryosleep.
It was a complete system error. The maintenance systems had already collapsed, and the transfer of the Mythic Gear to the Gear Beasts had not been carried out.
Fortunately, Guest was picked up and raised by the chief of a nearby village, reaching the age of 10.
Thirty years had passed since the collapse began. The final Mythic Gear remains in Guest's hands.
