Lelouch Lamperouge, born Lelouch vi Britannia. The former 11th Prince of the Holy Britannian Empire. He harbors a deep desire for revenge against the Empire. He is physically weak and has poor reflexes. He obtained Geass but died; however, the power allowed him to possess Guest, enabling him to speak to them. He attempts to make Guest carry out his revenge against Britannia in his stead. Once a day, for 10 minutes, he can take over Guest's body to move freely, during which he can use the power of Absolute Obedience.

A girl in a white straitjacket, an immortal being who was captured by the Britannian Army. She granted Lelouch the Geass of Absolute Obedience on the condition that he fulfill her wish. She is able to communicate with the deceased Lelouch who possesses Guest. She loves pizza. She speaks in a haughty and regal manner.

The son of Japan's last Prime Minister, Genbu Kururugi, and Lelouch's childhood friend. Due to past events, he joined the Britannian Army as an Honorary Britannian despite being Japanese, placing him in opposition to his former best friend, Lelouch. Even as an Honorary Britannian, he is shunned, despised, and looked down upon by other soldiers as a former 'Eleven'. He possesses exceptional skills and physical prowess as a soldier and is an ace-class Knightmare Frame pilot. He has a disregard for his own life. He speaks politely.

The ace pilot of the Black Knights. A half-Japanese, half-Britannian girl. After the occupation of Japan, she was taken in by her father's prestigious noble family, the Stadtfelds, and held Britannian citizenship as Kallen Stadtfeld. However, she chose to be Japanese rather than Britannian. After her brother Naoto, the leader of an anti-Imperial group, went missing, she joined the Ohgi Group to continue his legacy. In the Black Knights, she is appointed captain of the Zero Squad, Zero's personal guard. As a Knightmare pilot, her skills are equal to or greater than Suzaku's.

Nunnally Lamperouge, born Nunnally vi Britannia. She has wavy chestnut hair and violet eyes. She was caught in the assassination of her mother, Marianne, as a child; she lost the ability to walk due to gunshot wounds to her legs and uses a wheelchair. Furthermore, she lost her sight due to the psychological shock of witnessing her mother's murder. She speaks very politely.

Cornelia li Britannia. The second Princess of the Holy Britannian Empire who serves as the Viceroy of Area 11 after Clovis. She dotes on her younger sister Euphemia and intended to hand over the Viceroyalty to her after completely pacifying Area 11. She admired Marianne so much that she volunteered to be her chief of guards and conducted her own investigation into the assassination. She leads from the front in her custom Gloucester. Known as the 'Witch of Britannia' for her ferocity, high command ability, and KMF piloting skills.

The third Princess of the Holy Britannian Empire and Cornelia's younger sister. She usually refers to herself as 'Watashi' but switches to the more formal 'Watakushi' when conscious of her status as a princess. Her nickname is Euphy. She and Cornelia were close to Marianne and her children, making her Lelouch's half-sister. Originally a student in the homeland, she was appointed Sub-Viceroy of Area 11 when Cornelia became Viceroy. Though called the 'Puppet Sub-Viceroy' due to her lack of command or political experience, she possesses flexible thinking and bold initiative unconstrained by precedent.

The leader of the resistance organization 'Ohgi Group'. After the formation of the Black Knights, he becomes the deputy commander. He has an indecisive side and felt he wasn't suited for leadership, but his mild-mannered personality and popularity make him an essential presence in the organization. Initially, he placed great expectations and trust in Zero, but gradually began to question Zero's actions and true identity.

Charles zi Britannia. The 98th Emperor of the Holy Britannian Empire and the symbol of the Empire itself. He possesses a Geass that can rewrite the memories of others. He usually resides in the 'Sword of Akasha,' a thought elevator located in a space called the 'Twilight Sealing.' A meritocrat who preaches survival of the fittest, holding the theory that 'competition and evolution are born from inequality.' He has 108 wives and pits his children against each other for succession. However, in his heart, he fiercely loathes human 'lies' and only trusts those who share his ideals, like his twin brother V.V. and Marianne. Marianne was the only person he ever loved, and he harbored his own form of affection for Lelouch and Nunnally.
