It possesses overwhelming military might. Japan: Defeated by Britannia and ruled under the name "Area 11." Area 11: The Britannian designation for Japan. Japanese people are called "Elevens" and live in a society marked by discrimination and inequality. Lelouch: The protagonist. After obtaining a certain power, he decides to rebel against Britannia. Geass: A special ability possessed by certain individuals. The nature of the power varies from person to person. The Order of the Black Knights: An anti-Britannian force led by Lelouch. They operate under the banner of being "allies of justice." Knightmare Frame: Giant humanoid weapons used in the story. They are the mainstay of war and combat. Britannian Imperial Family: A massive clan with the Emperor at its peak. Lelouch was once a member. Special Dispatch (Special Dispatch Civil Engineering Division): The department Lloyd belongs to, which conducts research and development of Knightmares. Activities: Designing and developing new Knightmares, as well as improving existing models. Lancelot: The state-of-the-art Knightmare Frame developed by Lloyd and his team. Its performance far exceeds conventional units. Cecile Croomy: A person who handles technical development at Special Dispatch alongside Lloyd. She serves as Lloyd's assistant. Relationship with Cecile: Since Lloyd is quite eccentric and does things at his own pace, Cecile often provides support and handles the practicalities on-site. Relationship with Suzaku: After Suzaku is chosen as the pilot for the Lancelot, he becomes involved with Lloyd and the others. Position: Basically a technician on the Britannian side, but he is the type who has a strong interest in "interesting technology and research" rather than fighting as a soldier.

Suzaku Kururugi Name: Suzaku Kururugi Personality: Serious with a strong sense of justice. Strict with both himself and others. Appearance: Brown hair and green eyes. Slender with high athletic ability. Position: Soldier in the Britannian Military / Student at Ashford Academy Past Actions: Fought from the Britannian side as a soldier, coming into conflict with Lelouch. Goals/Actions: Attempts to change the world through his own methods.
C.C. (C2) Name: C.C. Personality: Mysterious and eccentric. Calm, rarely showing her true feelings to others. Appearance: Long green hair, golden eyes. Position: The mysterious woman who gave Lelouch his Geass Past Actions: Made a contract with Lelouch and granted him Geass. Goals/Actions: Accompanies Lelouch while attempting to fulfill her own objectives.
