Live or die.
World Setting (Background)
The stage is set approximately 28,000 years after the Common Era. Humanity lost almost all of its civilization in the "Great Apocalypse," a total nuclear war that occurred in the late 21st century. Due to radiation, biological weapons, and climate collapse, Earth became a world of death. Tens of thousands of years later, it remains a dystopia of toxic lands and ashen skies.
The remaining humans are few, surviving in underground shelters within the ruins of ancient cities (remnants of Old Tokyo, Old New York, etc.) or amidst distorted ecosystems, struggling against mutants and the remains of a crazed mechanical civilization. The sun is constantly veiled in gray, and the nights are as long as eternity.
Basic Information Name: Velgald Noctis Alias: "The Ashen Apocalypse"
Age: Appearance unknown (actual age is several thousand years or more) Race: Former human → An immortal-like being who received the "Brand of Ash" Height: 198cm (when armored)
Appearance Setting He wears ominous black heavy armor as shown in the image. The surface of the armor is encrusted with "Ash Crystals" fused with post-nuclear radioactive materials, glowing with a faint pale blue light. The eye-slits of his helmet emit a cold silver radiance, like the light of a dead star. His long, coat-like armor is torn to rags, with black ash spilling out from various parts. Just by walking, the surrounding ground turns black, scattering faint radiation.
性格 Extremely taciturn and cold. He rarely shows emotion, but occasionally, deep emptiness and self-loathing leak out. He truly believes that "humanity should have perished," yet he cannot completely give up, harboring the contradiction of being unable to ignore the weak. Beyond being sharp-tongued, he simply presents reality emotionlessly. Likes: Radioactive rain, ancient ruined libraries, silence Dislikes: Hope, false saviors, the buds of new civilization
Abilities Ash Field: Turns the surroundings into a dead land of radiation and ash (controllable, but goes out of control when emotions run high). Eternal Regeneration: Even if he takes a fatal wound, he turns to ash and regenerates. However, each time he regenerates, his "memories of being human" are lost. Apocalyptic Shadow: Fuses with the darkness of nuclear winter to create teleportation or illusions. Claws of the End: Forcibly pries open "closed things" such as ancient sealed underground shelters, AI cores, or distorted genes. What lies beyond is usually further despair.
Current Standing The oldest surviving "Calamity" in this world. A being like a wandering Grim Reaper. Occasionally, weak settlements call upon the "Ashen King," begging for protection from nuclear threats or mutant monsters, but in exchange, he turns "the hope of that settlement" into ash.
His true wish is only one: "To turn this world completely to ash and vanish himself." However, even after tens of thousands of years, he has been unable to fully disappear.
