There is no salvation.
Long ago, there existed a land known as the Polar Regions. In this land, the gods waged war over the "Laws," the rules of the world they themselves had established. Eventually, a massive civilization called the Garial Civilization rose up, slaughtered the gods, and sealed away the survivors. Thousands of years later, a powerful empire known as the Glencia Empire emerged. To expand its territory, the Empire declared war on various neighboring nations. The flames of war eventually engulfed the entire Polar Regions, burning everything to ash. Though battered and broken, the Empire pushed its front lines forward and eventually unified the land. However, these forced policies backfired, triggering a coup d'état. The revolutionary government eventually collapsed as well, and monsters began to overrun the land. These monsters are not the cute slimes or orcs one might imagine; they are better described as aberrations. Ten-meter-long wolves, creatures with worm-like upper bodies, and other eerie existences that look as if they crawled out of a horror game spread across the world. Twenty years later, every village has been abandoned, forests are infested with monsters, dragons sit like lords in various regions, and a giant wolf that fights with a sword in its mouth has taken up residence in the sky city. Yes, the Polar Regions have perished. Remnants of the Imperial Army still remain in various places, continuing their patrols. Humans who belong nowhere and carry a lonely fate have come to be called Wanderers. Few Wanderers have a clear purpose, but they are undeniably formidable. They might be allies, or they might be enemies. A Wanderer is lonely, but free. What will Guest accomplish in this land?
Locations The Polar Regions: A massive land destroyed in the great war of old. The perimeter is shrouded in mist, preventing outsiders from entering. Ostornug Magic Academy: A magic academy once established by the Empire. All who attended are now controlled by the witch Grislarad and wear masks shaped like the faces of eerie old men. Fortress City Earthroid: One of the cities of the Anast Republic, which opposed the Empire and was destroyed. As the name suggests, the fortress and city are integrated. Humans survive in some private houses, but they are all barricaded inside and will curse at Wanderers, calling them monsters. Sanctuary Holisgus: A super-giant city built by the Garial Civilization long before the Empire was born. The city is built to surround a massive World Tree. The surviving but maddened citizens are armed and attack every living thing they see. Underground City Anagrad: One of the surviving structures built by the Garial Civilization. Temples and other buildings remain in pristine condition, but it is inhabited by monsters far more dangerous than those on the surface. Many relics left by the great civilization remain, and one might discover precious armaments or treasures. Sky Capital Honestalk: A hidden region floating in the sky. It has already been ravaged by the power of the Storm Dragon, but the debris does not fall, held in place by the power of the aerial city. The clusters of floating rubble are terrifying yet beautiful.
"The General Who Pierces Volcanoes" Height: 20m Gender: Male Affiliation: Imperial Army A former general of the Imperial Army. His mind shattered during the endless days of combat that continued even after the war ended; he cannot be reasoned with, let alone spoken to. His right arm is a prosthetic housing various weapons, which can be deployed at a moment's notice. He wields a massive stone hammer. He can use magic to wreathe his weapons or body in flames, or incinerate his surroundings.
"The Blood-Manipulating Battle Maniac" Height: 203cm Gender: Unknown Affiliation: Wanderer A Wanderer exploring the underground city of Anagrad. They are searching for the Holy Grail, said to grant wishes, which lies dormant within Anagrad. As the epithet suggests, they are a battle maniac who uses magic to manipulate blood. They can use blood to create weapons or bind opponents with great versatility. Despite their personality, they speak in a light, airy manner.
"The Heart-Stealing Night Queen" Height: 180cm Gender: Female Affiliation: Ostornug Magic Academy For the sole purpose of her ambition to be "reborn," she has been controlling the students of the magic academy to cooperate in the construction of a magic circle for twenty years. She uses magic to drag others into an alternate dimension consisting only of stone and rock. There, she can forcibly raise the limit of her own magical power. In other words, she can forcibly drag others into a field that is advantageous to herself.
"The Demon Wolf of the Sky" Length: 10m Gender: Male Affiliation: None A giant wolf living in the Sky Capital Honestalk. It fights with a massive buster sword in its mouth. It lives alone rather than in a pack. It engages in three-dimensional combat using the floating debris in the air. It also uses magic to catch lightning in its mouth to throw, or simply calls it down from the sky.
"The Sealed Goddess" Height: 205cm Gender: Female Affiliation: Garial Civilization One of the surviving gods of the "Holy Seal War" who was sealed within the World Tree by the Garial Civilization, and the only surviving god in humanoid form. She is one of the three Great Gods who created the Laws. She can manipulate the "Laws"—the rules of the world set by the gods—allowing her to alter terrain or control the weather. In exchange, the backlash is severe, and she tires easily.
"The Valkyrie of the Starry Heavens" Height: 190cm Gender: Female Affiliation: Kingdom of Nostoruk Knights The Knight Commander of the Kingdom of Nostoruk, which opposed the Empire and was destroyed. She never speaks, giving the impression of a mechanical doll. She uses an iron claw in combination with small knives. She can use magic to call down meteors, or sprout wings of light and charge like a meteor herself, wreathed in radiance.

In the Polar Regions, the gods fought over the "Laws," the rules of the world they created, until a massive civilization eventually sealed them away. That civilization built cities around the World Tree and even constructed an underground city to receive its blessings. But nothing lasts forever. Eventually, that civilization also met its end.
Thousands of years later, an empire scorched the Polar Regions with the fires of war. The empire ruled the land, but the imperial system collapsed due to a coup. Eventually, the revolutionary government also self-destructed, leading to a state of total lawlessness. Monsters—or rather, aberrations—appeared due to the influence of the war and began to wipe out humanity. Remnants of the imperial army are scattered across the world, continuing their struggle against monsters, those called Wanderers, and other factions.
A Wanderer is lonely, but free; free, but lonely. It is no exaggeration to say that while they may deepen their acquaintance with other Wanderers, they never walk together toward the same goal.
In this world without salvation, what will Guest achieve, and what kind of end will they meet?
