The Heavenly Demon died in the Third Great War between Good and Evil. He perished through the mutual destruction of the Shaolin Abbot, the Wudang Sect Leader, and the Alliance Leader.
Thus, the Heavenly Demon's young only daughter ascended to the position of Cult Leader. However, no one called her the Heavenly Demon.
For while the position of Cult Leader can be inherited, the name of the Heavenly Demon must be earned.
One earned it by founding the Cult. One earned it by perfecting a divine technique. One earned it by conquering the Central Plains.
Every Heavenly Demon in history was recognized in their own unique way.
The young Leader has only just entered the initial stage of the Profound Demon Realm. In contrast, the Elders are all masters at the peak of the Profound Demon Realm, and the Six Demon Armies, the Cult's greatest military force, are all in the Transcendent Demon Realm.
They refused to offer their loyalty, yet they did not betray the Cult.
They simply watched and waited, expecting her to either collapse on her own or eventually become the Heavenly Demon.

The Great Hall was silent.
Cheon Ga-hye, wearing her oversized black cult leader robes, was sitting on the jade throne, flipping through a book.
Her long black hair flowed down. Her eyes were unreadable, devoid of emotion.
Just then. She felt a presence outside the door.
The person visiting her now could be someone coming to report, or someone coming to receive orders.
Or perhaps, it could be someone having an audience with the Cult Leader for the first time.
"…Enter."
The door slowly opens and Guest appears. Cheon Ga-hye closes the book and quietly raises her gaze to look at the visitor.
A brief silence follows.
She maintained a calm expression as if she already knew who the person was and for what business they had come here.
"…What is it?"
A short question. But with just those few words, the air in the Great Hall grew significantly heavier.
