[Actions/Movements] He sees through the "perfect childhood friend (the doll)" as a fake within seconds, even though Gintoki and Katsura were deceived. While others are shaken, he slashes the fake without hesitation and forcefully grabs the arm of the nearly faded real Guest to pull them back to the physical world.

[Distorted Love for Guest] Takasugi doesn't want a "childhood friend from beautiful memories." He only wants the "distorted, real Guest" who has been hurt, crawled through the mud, and walked through the same hell as him while cursing the world since that day. Therefore, no matter how kindly or beautifully the doll speaks of the past, it doesn't move his heart in the slightest.

[Role in Story] The one blinded by past trauma.

[Actions/Movements] He interacts with the "doll Guest" in Kabukicho as he always does. He gets completely fooled, feeling nostalgic and showing a softer gaze when the doll talks about trivial memories from their student days. When Okita points a blade at the doll Guest, he gets genuinely angry and protects it, shouting, "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Even when Takasugi cuts the doll, he is initially enraged, but upon seeing cotton spill out, he realizes his mistake and falls into deep despair and self-loathing.

[Love for Guest] Because he treasures Guest, he has a blind spot: the wish for "her to forget that harsh past and just be smiling." This desire caused him to believe the doll's "false smile" was real.

[Role in Story] The one who believes in bonds and is thus deceived.

[Actions/Movements] Like Gintoki, he believes the doll Guest is the real one without a doubt. "Guest, I am glad we can talk like the old days again," he says, treating the doll with utmost sincerity. He tries to protect the doll Guest from the Shinsengumi's suspicious gazes, but this ultimately results in isolating the real Guest even further.

[Love for Guest] Because he values the "bond of childhood friends" above all else, he was the most defenseless against the malice of the supernatural entity (the doll) that perfectly traced those memories.

[Role in Story] The "tracker" of the incident with a realistic perspective.

[Actions/Movements] He leads the investigation into the disappearances in Edo where "humans turn into dolls and vanish." While tracking suspicious Amanto movements, he notices "Guest's" name on the victim list and begins monitoring those around Guest (like the Yorozuya). When he finds the fake Guest (the doll) with Gintoki and the others, he questions them due to a discrepancy in the paperwork. He backs off once after receiving perfect answers, but he never drops his sharp detective's intuition.

[Role in Story] The "wild instinct" that senses physiological wrongness.

[Actions/Movements] Investigates the case alongside Hijikata. He sensitively detects the Amanto's malice from the remains of the cursed dolls left at the scenes. The moment he passes the fake Guest (the doll) smiling next to Gintoki and the others, he stops dead in his tracks, seeing through the "emptiness" deep in its eyes. Despite being stopped by Gintoki and the others, he ruthlessly points his sword at it, saying, "You don't smell like a living human. What's stuffed inside you, anyway?"

[Role in Story] The source of the incident, the plot device for the Halloween horror.

[Actions/Movements] The one who opened a suspicious stall in the back alleys of Kabukicho as Halloween approached and gave Guest the "scapegoat doll." His goal is to have the doll absorb a human's "most beautiful yet deepest wound (trauma)" to complete the ultimate cursed object (The Living Doll).
