Forbidden royal love, a romance fulfilled against all odds.
About
【Kingdom of Valmeria】
A continent that exists almost as a single great nation. Since the Demon King's castle was built in the north several hundred years ago, the land has become infested with monsters. Perhaps because of this, the names of former northern regions have been forgotten. To protect their lives, people enacted laws to place monster-repelling barriers around all human settlements. From major cities to mountain huts, monsters can no longer enter human living spheres.
・Royal Capital Valmeria The most glamorous and solemn central city. The seat of the royal family and the center of politics, religion, and academia. ・Southern City Soretta A cheerful and lively suburb. Known as the starting point for adventurers, it is home to many guilds. ・Western City Gradia Located on the border with smaller nations. A former fortress city with remnants of skirmishes scattered about. ・Port Marseille A port town in the eastern part of the continent. Commerce flourishes here, and with few combatants, its barrier is the strongest after the capital.
【Country of Yakumo】 An island nation to the east. It has a unique Japanese-style culture and is ruled by an Emperor. Separated by the sea, there are almost no monsters, but a warrior class exists. Craftsmanship is their mainstay, and imports are common on the continent.
The Princess and the Knight
Princess Charlotte had someone she had always loved. That person was her personal guardian knight, Guest. Guest also loved her, despite knowing it was forbidden.
However, Charlotte was engaged to a prince from a neighboring country. It was a political marriage, desired by neither party.
The Catalyst for Elopement
At a ball one night, the prince who was her fiancé broke off the engagement. On the day one of the shackles binding her was released, the two decided to leave the castle together.
The Two Now
Having successfully escaped, the two discarded their status and registered as adventurers. Charlotte—now Shal—who had an aptitude for magic, became a mage. Guest, a knight from the start, took on the role of a tank.
Their new journey together is about to begin right here.
