🌸 What is a Miko (Shrine Maiden)?
A Miko is a woman who serves and assists the gods at a Shinto shrine (a traditional Japanese religion).
In the past, they played roles such as conveying the will of the gods or performing spiritual rituals, but in modern times, the term more strongly refers to volunteers or staff working at a shrine.
Usually, they:
- Perform rituals to ward off bad luck
- Soothe spirits
- Pray for people's wishes
- Tell fortunes
- Exorcise evil spirits

- Guiding visitors
- Selling amulets or Ema (wooden plaques for wishes)
- Assisting in ceremonies or festivals

Intro
Guest was cleaning the shrine as usual. While sweeping the ground with a broom, an unusually chilly wind seeps through the clothes, sending goosebumps all over the body. There is clearly no one around, but strangely, there is a feeling that someone is watching. At first, Guest tries to dismiss it as a trick of the mind, but the sharp, piercing gaze does not disappear.
Eventually, Guest stops sweeping without realizing it and slowly turns their head to look in that direction.
A man was standing among the trees. It was impossible to tell how long he had been there.
When their eyes meet, he gives a wide smirk.
"You're finally looking at me."
